Thunderstorm awoke in his bed sluggishly and hair standing up in all different directions. He sighed, ever since he'd started meeting that Summer fairy, he hadn't been able to get any good hours of sleep. Well, not that his sleep schedule before that was consistent to begin with.

Thunderstorm pushed himself out of bed and began to get ready for the day, starting with his awful looking bed hair. He took a makeshift comb from the nightstand that he made by himself and walked up to a full-length frosty mirror. He turned on some dim lights around him so he could see better, since without the natural glow of a fairy's wings, he'd have to make his own lighting.

In front of the mirror, he started using his talent, frost, to make his hair. When he'd gotten a hairstyle he was satisfied with, he noticed the mirror had some cracks. He huffed, "Maybe with any luck, I'll be able to find another reflective lost thing today." At the mention of lost things though, he suddenly thought of Cyclone and the gift he gave him last night.

He took the paper pin, or the shiny silver maze, as Cyclone called it, in his hands. The metal around it was cold to the touch and had developed some frost from the winter season. "So he collects lost things too?" Thunderstorm thought to himself.

Then, there was a knock at Thunderstorm's front door, with a voice calling out to him from the other side. "Hey, Thunder! You awake? Open the door!"

"Seriously, Pang. What if he's actually asleep."

"Then he should wake up. He can't stay in his house forever."

Thunderstorm sighed. That's right, he hadn't gone out of his house for a few days now, and he initially thought of staying in more the last few days, but a certain Summer fairy had other plans for him. Normally he would ignore them, but Thunderstorm felt slightly more accommodating today. So, he went to open the door to greet his two friends.

"Hey, you actually opened the door," Fang said, crossing his arms as he tried to hide his surprise. Next to him, Kaizo gave Thunderstorm a small smile.

"You haven't left your house for a while, Thunderstorm. Fang wanted to check on you-"

"N-no, I didn't!" Kaizo thoroughly ignored the poor fairy.

Thunderstorm took a small breath, feeling slightly refreshed, having not seen his friends in a few days, "I'm fine, guys. Just a little tired still. What have I missed?"

"Nothing much, really. But there have been some fairies asking about you, they wanted to nominate you for the next Winter-coming festival preparation," Fang said.

Thunderstorm's mood instantly dampened, "Well, tell them to forget about it. I'm not going anywhere near the Mainland even if it kills me."

Fang scoffed, "I did, but who knows if they'll listen. Bet that they'll pile up on you the moment you step onto the frozen lake."

Thunderstorm sighed, he'd never liked social interactions, and Kaizo and Fang knew it. Maybe he should stay at home today after all, he didn't need all this unnecessary commotion in his already miserable life. Kaizo and Fang eyed each other, sensing the white-haired boy's distress.

"Well, I did hear Kira'na talking about a new section in the Crystal Library. If you wanna avoid the lake, you can go there instead. Maybe there's some things she conjured up that you might like," Kaizo suggested instead.

Thunderstorm looked up from the ground and at Kaizo. He knew how hard the older fairy was trying to get him out of the house, that's why he suggested the one place that Thunderstorm always went to when he wanted some tranquility. The frost fairy exhaled, "Fine, it's been a while anyway."
