Elenor's POV
Tintin and I quickly made our way back to our flat.
"We've missed something, Eleanor." Tintin said, opening the door to the building for us. "We need to take a closer look at that model." He suggested and I nodded.
"You go up, I'll check the post." I said.
I opened our box and found the daily newspaper but nothing else. As I made my way up the stairs, Tintin came bursting out of our door, holding his flashlight. I could read on his face that he was upset.
"What's wrong?" I asked him. "The ship's been stolen. How could I have been so stupid?" He graveled out.
"It's gone?!" I gasped. "I locked the door though." I reasoned.
"They must have gotten in through the window or something. But I think I know where it is." He said.
"Marlinspike Hall." We both answered.
"Exactly. Stay here and get some sleep." He said but I shook my head.
"No! You're not going by yourself. I won't let you!" I argued.
"It's dangerous, Eleanor." He retorted.
"Since when has that stopped me?" I shot back. I quickly pulled out my flashlight from my coat pocket and opened the building door for us.
Tintin gave me a hard look but eventually gave in. "Alright, but stay close to me." He said, walking by me as he headed out the door.
"When have I not?" I responded with a chuckle.
"The Egyptian Museum, the underground crypts, the abandoned--" "Okay, I get it!" I exclaimed.
-----
We arrived at the gate entrance of Marlinspike Hall which was appropriately locked with a padlock. Tintin tried to open the gate it obviously didn't budge. While he looked at the lock, I saw Snowy going through a hole in the brick wall around the gate. I quickly followed him through and patted his head.
"Good boy." I smiled. I got up and went around the gate where Tintin was still staring at the lock.
"Having fun there, Tintin?" I asked him with a playful smirk.
"Wha- How'd you do that?" He asked me.
"There is a hole in the bricks just to your left." I chuckled.
Snowy barked from next to me and I laughed. "Credit is to Snowy, he found it." I said.
"Clever boy." Tintin said as he came through the hole. I held my hand out and helped him up.
We both started walking down the long drive to the manor. It looked ominous and old. Vines climbed the walls and some windows were broken and falling off.
Tintin and I made it to the entrance. "Okay, what now?" I asked out.
Tintin's light found the top of the door. "A coat of arms." Tintin said, grabbing my attention.
I looked to the door and saw what he was talking about. "Why does that look familiar?" I asked him, still looking at the coat of arms.
"That fish... It's a haddock! Of course! Marlinspike Hall is the old Haddock estate." Tintin explained.
"I was thinking more of one of Snowy's old dog toys but that works too." I chuckled. I looked down to smile at Snowy but couldn't find him.
"Snowy?" I called out quietly. I hear a growl from behind me, making me turn around quickly.
