Y/n's POV

As I'm upside down, trying to balance in the headstand, the world feels like it's spinning faster than usual. My thoughts are a whirlwind of confusion and frustration. "It's too early for this," I think, barely able to hold on. My head is throbbing, and I can barely distinguish between the light and the darkness.

"Come on, Y/n, you can do it," Saiki's voice comes through, calm and reassuring, even though he's not actually speaking.

I feel the world tipping sideways, and my vision starts to blur. Just as I think I'm going to fall, a pair of strong hands gently support me, helping me back to my feet. I look up to see Saiki's concerned face.

"Are you okay?" Saiki asks, his voice carrying a hint of genuine worry.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I reply, still feeling a bit dizzy. "Thanks for catching me. I think I might have overdone it."

Saiki gives a small nod. "You should take it easy. Maybe you need to rest a bit."

Saiki's POV

Watching Y/n struggle with the headstand was frustrating. I could sense her discomfort through her thoughts. It's not just physical stress; she's clearly overwhelmed by the day's activities. When she started to fall, I had to act quickly. My instinct was to support her, and it was a relief to see her back on her feet safely.

As we finish up with gym class, I can't help but feel a bit more connected to her. Her psychic abilities are intriguing, but it's her resilience and spirit that stand out to me.

Later that Day

The school day wraps up, and I find myself walking with Y/n and Adin towards the exit. I'm still mulling over our earlier conversation and the implications of our psychic abilities.

"So, Y/n, what's the plan for the rest of the day?" Adin asks, looking between us with a curious expression.

"Well, Saiki's been nice enough to join me for lunch and help with the baby project," Y/n replies, giving me a playful nudge. "And we might hang out a bit more if he's up for it."

Adin smirks. "You two seem to be getting along pretty well. Just make sure you're not giving him too much trouble."

I roll my eyes. "Adin, don't start."

After School

Y/n and I walk together towards her house. The city's bustling energy contrasts with the calm of our conversation. I'm still trying to piece together the enigma that is Y/n. She's confident, outspoken, and not afraid to confront challenges. It's a refreshing change from the usual people I interact with.

"Hey, Saiki," Y/n starts as we approach her house, "I was thinking... since we both have these abilities, maybe we could learn more about them together. I mean, it's not every day you meet someone who can read minds and talk without moving their mouth."

I raise an eyebrow. "You want to team up for that?"

"Why not?" she grins. "We could be a pretty powerful team. Plus, it's better than doing it alone."

I consider her offer. It could be useful to understand more about my abilities through someone else's perspective. "Alright, I'm in."

Y/n's house is cozy and well-kept. She takes Aliyah, the robotic baby, from my hands and sets it down gently. "Let's get comfortable and talk."

We sit in the living room, and Y/n grabs some snacks. I notice she's careful to avoid overly sugary things, which is a nice touch.

"So, about our abilities," Y/n begins, "How did you figure out you were psychic? For me, it was always just... normal. I could hear thoughts and see things before they happened. It was only when I started talking to others that I realized I was different."

I nod. "I discovered my abilities when I was a kid. I could read minds and move things without touching them. It was a bit overwhelming at first, especially when I couldn't control it well."

"Yeah, that makes sense," Y/n says thoughtfully. "I've had to learn to manage my thoughts and not let them get too chaotic."

Saiki's POV

As Y/n talks, I find myself feeling a deeper connection with her. Our experiences, though different in some ways, share a common thread of dealing with extraordinary abilities. It's a relief to talk to someone who understands, even if she has her quirks.

"Do you ever find it difficult to keep your thoughts from getting mixed up with others?" I ask, genuinely curious.

"All the time," she replies with a sigh. "It's like a constant stream of noise. But I've learned to focus and filter out what I don't need."

Y/n's POV

As Saiki and I chat, I start to feel more comfortable around him. His presence is calming, and I can sense that he's genuinely interested in understanding more about our abilities. It's nice to have someone to talk to who gets it.

"Well," I say, standing up, "how about we test out some of our abilities together? See what we can discover about them?"

Saiki looks intrigued. "Sure. Let's see what we can learn."

We spend the rest of the afternoon experimenting with our powers and sharing insights. It's a productive and enlightening session. As evening approaches, I feel a sense of camaraderie that I haven't felt with anyone before.

"Thanks for coming over, Saiki," I say as he gets ready to leave. "I think we're going to make a pretty good team."

"Yeah," he replies, a rare smile tugging at his lips. "I think so too."

The Next Day at School

The next day, at school, Y/n and I continue our work on the baby project. We've become more in sync, and our conversations flow easily. It feels good to have someone who understands the challenges of having psychic abilities.

As the days go by, our partnership grows stronger, and we start to uncover more about ourselves and each other. We both realize that, while our powers are unique, they can be even more powerful when used together.
