y/n's POV

It all started with that damn baby project. The teacher thought it would be "educational" to pair me and Saiki up with a robot baby to keep alive. I didn't ask for this, but here we are—co-parenting this fake baby like it's real. But something about this whole situation brought us closer. At first, it was just about getting through the assignment, but now, it's deeper than that.

Me and Saiki both got these psychic abilities, and we've been able to communicate telepathically. Honestly, it's been a lifesaver, especially with all the drama that's been unfolding lately. Like Teruhashi, for example. She's mad that Saiki, the only guy who doesn't fall all over her "drop-dead gorgeous" self, is spending all his time with me instead.

I roll my eyes as I think about her. But I can feel her energy. She's plotting something. "Y/n, she's up to something," Saiki's voice slips into my mind. That telepathic connection we've got comes in clutch, especially when dealing with someone like Teruhashi.

"Yeah, I know," I reply in my thoughts. "But whatever she's planning, we got this."

Right on cue, Adin, my brother, rolls up. He's always got a sixth sense for when something's about to go down. He doesn't know about me and Saiki's psychic stuff, but he doesn't need to—he's always ready to protect me.

"What's going on?" Adin asks, looking between me and Saiki like he's ready to throw hands if necessary.

"Just some drama," I say with a smirk, trying to keep things light. "Teruhashi's got her sights set on us."

Adin frowns, his face getting serious. "That girl with the blue hair? She's been acting real shady around y'all."

"She's obsessed with Saiki 'cause he's the only one who doesn't fall for her looks," I explain. "Now that we're hanging out, she's taking it personal."

Adin crosses his arms. "She better not try anything. I don't care how pretty she thinks she is—she's not messing with you, Y/n."

I smile, appreciating his protectiveness. "Thanks, Adin. But trust me, me and Saiki can handle her."

Saiki nods in agreement. "We've dealt with worse."

After School

We're heading home—me, Saiki, and Adin—when I feel Teruhashi's energy creeping up behind us. She's not physically close, but I can feel her frustration. She's watching, waiting for her moment.

"She's close," Saiki sends a thought my way.

"Yeah, I feel it too," I reply, keeping my guard up. "She's not gonna let this go easy."

Adin's still eyeing us, picking up on the tension. "Y'all good?"

"Just some drama," I say out loud, trying to brush it off. But deep down, I know this isn't over. Teruhashi thinks she can mess with us, but she has no idea who she's dealing with. Between me, Saiki, and Adin, we've got this handled.

Finally, we reach my house. I unlock the door, and we all step inside. As soon as we're safe inside, I toss the robot baby onto the couch like I'm throwing out the trash. That thing's been nothing but a headache, but at least it got me and Saiki working together.

I grab some snacks and sit down next to Saiki on the couch. He looks tired, probably from all the Teruhashi drama and the whole baby project thing.

"You good?" I ask, crunching on a chip.

"Yeah," Saiki replies in that chill, monotone way he always does. But I know better. He's dealing with a lot—more than he lets on.

I look at him for a second, and before I even think about it, I lean over and kiss him softly on the cheek. It's quick, just a little something to show I'm here for him. When I pull back, I see the surprise in his eyes. Saiki might be psychic, but he definitely didn't see that coming.

"Thanks for sticking with me through all this," I say, trying to play it cool. But inside, I'm wondering what the hell I just did.

Saiki just blinks, then nods slowly. "No problem." His tone is steady, but I notice a slight pink flush on his cheeks. Guess he wasn't expecting that.

Adin strolls back into the room, completely oblivious to what just happened. "So, what's the plan? Y'all gonna handle this baby thing or what?"

"Yeah, we've got it," I say, quickly shifting focus. "But there's something else—Teruhashi. She's not gonna let this go."

Adin raises an eyebrow. "You want me to handle her?"

I chuckle. "Nah, we've got it. But thanks for the offer."

Saiki and I share a look. We've dealt with worse, but Teruhashi's getting desperate, and desperate people do stupid things. Still, we've got each other's backs, and that's all that matters.

Later That Night

I'm chilling in bed, finally ready to sleep, when I feel Saiki reach out to me telepathically. "Y/n, you still up?"

"Yeah, what's up?" I respond, feeling half-asleep already.

"Teruhashi's energy is too loud tonight. She's not letting this go."

I sigh. Of course. "What's her problem now?"

"She's still obsessed with me... with us. It's getting worse."

I rub my forehead. "Alright. Tomorrow, we'll figure out a way to block her out mentally. For now, try to get some rest."

"Alright," Saiki replies, though I know it's easier said than done. Teruhashi isn't backing down, but neither are we. Tomorrow, we'll handle it together. For now, I let myself drift off to sleep, knowing that no matter what, we've got this.
