Cole
I've been staring at the same piece of paper for god knows how long. Read it over 30 times, and I still can't understand why my father would do that. Over 20 Billion dollars was transferred to an account overseas, and my team hasn't been able to track it. He's probably lying in a ditch somewhere, rotting away from a new drug he got off some dealer, plus he wouldn't remember what he'd done with that money.
I am still going to find out...Yes, the hell I am.
I look up, hearing a knock at the door, "Come in." My sister Aurora walks in, two cups in her hands. "Brother, tea with honey. " she hands me my cup as she drinks, "Good Morning, sister, and thank you. So," I say, taking a sip of it, feeling my eyes shut a while ago because of how long I've been up, "So...what, brother, finish your sentences." she points.
"Nothing. I'm just wondering why you were up so early. It's what, 7:30 am?" I point out. "Well, Today we have a guest fighter from the academy come and join us, so I was thinking I might go have time to stretch and practice a little." I nod, flipping over some papers, still confused as to why she takes these classes, "Why do you take those classes when you're better than anyone they know?"
She flips her head behind her shoulders, "I just like to challenge people. Oh, and because there are these two girls that stand in the corner of the room doing nothing, thinking they're better than everyone else, and I want to beat their asses. Dad's money sure can't help them with that." She smiles, "Pluse, Im locked up with you and Nico all the time, so I just want this for me, so please let me have it."
She's not lying after Mom died. Aurora has not left mine or Nico's side. Everywhere we go, she goes. That is if she's not out killing someone when I need her to. "You're the second." I point out. I look back down as I feel her death glares on me, "He's dead. So that makes me first. So, don't mention him." My getting on her nerves at this time was a bad Idea.
I smirk, "Did I forget to mention that he's coming back." Her eyes widen she clears her throat, "Why would I care, and what did I say about saying anything related to him!" I put down the papers, folding my hands, "I have to because he's going to be gardening you for the time being." She opens her mouth to protest, but I beat her to it, " Viktor, he's back."
She freezes, eyes widen, and face goes pale, "And he's planning on hitting today at the event that is being held in Rome, and I need to make sure all of you are safe first." It takes her a while to get the information all in her head, but once she does, she smiles knowingly then turns to leave, "You know, brother, you have a strange way of telling us you love us, it's cute-Oh and tell him not to bother coming, I can take care of myself, don't need a lying bastard being my guard. I'll meet you in Rome." Her voice filled with venom as she walked out.
I shake my head and grab my phone dialing the one person I trust the most other than Nico, "Hello?" I hear a raspy voice come from the other end, "Christian, are you ready for business." I say, smirking to myself. She's going to hate me so bad, "Yes, Sir, send me the file-" I cut him off, "You won't need a file. You already know who it is. It's Aurora."
There is a long silence on the other side of the line before I hear someone's throat being cleared, "I-Is she alright?" This is the first time I hear a stutter from an assassin, "She's fine. It's Viktor. He's back, and you're the only one I trust will take care of her...With your life." I say the ending call knowing he will, so as I say, not for me, but for her.
"When do I start." "Today, I've already sent a plane out for you. You have her location, so I'll leave you to it also before I forget to watch your back. You're on his list too. Well, that's all I have for you now. Have a wonderful day," I say. The last thing I hear before the line goes dark is, "Wonderful, my ass-" I shake my head. What can go wrong with two assassins in one room?
