Chapter 02: Bad News
Taehyung arrived at the house, he was panting heavily while looking around the house. There are people outside, whispering about what happened. He paid no mind to them and barged inside. His eyes widened, seeing his mother's bloody body on the floor near the door.
“Eomma” That's the only word he can utter from his mouth.
His body temperature ran cold after seeing his mother. He was trembling so badly, not knowing what to do.
“Eomma!” He fell to the floor, pulling Kyushu's body to his lap.
“J-Ju-” His mother was trying to say something, but she couldn't even form a proper word.
“T-the ambulance is coming Eomma, just wait, okay?” Taehyung muttered with a shaky tone.
His brain can barely function everything, it felt so unreal for him. This was not what he expected to see. Why does this have to happen? Who did this to her?
“J-Jung-kook” His mother uttered a familiar name.
He couldn't be wrong, he heard that name before. Was he the one who did this to her? Why?
“Please move aside” Suddenly, the ambulance arrived with a stretcher.
They carefully put her on the stretcher and brought her inside the ambulance. Taehyung followed inside, holding her hand while crying.
“Please, drive faster.” Taehyung sobbed, trembling due to the slow process.
Once they arrived at the hospital, the medic was fast enough to pull out the stretcher from the ambulance and brought it inside the hospital.
“Wait here outside.” The nurse told him, stopping him from going inside the emergency room.
“Please, do anything to survive her.” Taehyung begged the nurse, tears forming in his eyes.
“We'll do our best.” The nurse said and closed the emergency room.
Taehyung fell on his knees on the ground floor of the hospital. He was nervous about what will happen to his mother. She's the only person she has in his life, he doesn't want to lose her. He couldn't help but cry, his heart was clenching due to the unbearable pain.
Jungkook was nervous as well, he couldn't stay calm waiting in the café shop. It's been 3 hours now, but Kyushu still not showing up. Something must have gone wrong because she was not answering his call.
“The number that you have dialed cannot be reached. Please try again later.”
He was frustrated right now, his right leg even kept shaking for a moment. Suddenly, he received a call, he thought it was from Kyushu, but it was Jin. He sighed and answered it.
“Hyung, why did you call?” He started, soothing his forehead.
“Jungkook, you had to attend an important meeting right now, where are you?” Jin asked him.
“Can you please represent me instead? I have to do something important.” Jungkook responded.
“You can't lose this deal, Jungkook, even if I wanted to represent you, I can't do that because they were looking for you. You are the CEO, you are playing an important role in this company.” Jin told him.
“I know, but this one is crucial for me, Hyung. I can't also lose this one.” Jungkook sighed.
“You've been gone almost 4 hours now, where are you? Don't forget that you've planned to get this deal for so long just to meet Mr. Kwak, don't lose everything that you have right now, Jungkook. If you fail this one, you won't ever get justice.” Jin stated.
“Fine, I'm going there, tell them I'll arrive in 30 minutes.” Jungkook sighed in defeat.
It seemed Kyushu won't show up to their meeting. What could be her reason this time?
“It's positive, Sir, he was about to meet her.”
“Hah, he's waiting for no one. Did he meet someone else besides her?”
“No one came up, Sir, he was being alone for 3 hours, but I've seen no one go close to him.”
“Good, just keep an eye on him, that boy surely won't stop until he found out the truth. Make sure that he won't be a block to my success. He's such a pain in my neck.”
“I understand, Sir, don't worry, I still get updates from our spy in his company. I'm sure he won't notice our spy, after all, it was his friend. Also, what should we do to her son? I've heard that she has a son who's with her, what are you going to do with him?”
“That's good, don't worry about that other kid, I can kill him if something went wrong. If everything messed up, make sure to get rid of him. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Sir.”
Taehyung was walking back and forth in the hallway of the hospital. He still didn't get any update on what happened to his mother. He was nervous, waiting alone. The emergency room opened and he saw the doctor.
“Doc, how's my mother?” Taehyung asked the doctor with hope glistening in his eyes.
The doctor pulled out his mask and held Taehyung's shoulder.
“I'm sorry, Mr. Kim, the patient didn't make it. It was already complicated because she was shot in her forehead. We weren't able to save her, I apologize for what happened. We did our best to survive her, but we failed to do that.”
The doctor told him the sad news that truly broke Taehyung's heart. He can barely comprehend what the doctor says after hearing that she didn't make it. Tears flowed out of his eyes, he felt like he got a dagger stabbed in his heart. He couldn't utter a word in his mouth, it was trembling due to his cries.
“We're sorry, Mr. Kim.” The doctor tried to comfort the crying boy.
Taehyung's cries can be heard in the hospital. It was so loud enough that you were able to feel the pain he was currently experiencing right now. He lost the only person who was on his side and now, he has no one but himself. How will he be able to survive without his mother? What should he do right now?
