Anger never builds; it only tears down. In the heat of a single moment, it can feel like strength, an armor to hide behind. But when the fire fades, all that's left are the ashes of what once mattered. Anger doesn't solve anything-it devours patienc...

Chapter 10: The Odd Feelings
Exhausted, Jungkook came home from work in the afternoon even though he usually went home at night. Well, since Taehyung has been living under the same roof as him, he felt like it was his duty to take care of him. It became a normal routine to the point his body moved on its own just to come back home.
As he arrived, his staff greeted him the moment he stepped his feet in his mansion. One of the maids even helped him to remove his blazer.
“Where's Taehyung?” Jungkook asked with a hint of tiredness in his tone while loosening his necktie.
“He went out to buy something, Sir.” Sooyoung responded.
“What?” she flinched when her boss's voice suddenly turned into something stern.
“He insisted on going out alone, Sir. That's why I let him leave.” Sooyoung couldn't even look at Jungkook's eyes.
“You know the person's injured, right? Why would you allow him?” Jungkook retorted in an annoyed voice. “why you didn't ask me first?” he added.
“I-I'm sorry, Sir, but he told me he is fine and he left right away.” Sooyoung almost choked on her words.
“Is there someone to assist him?” Jungkook asked with furrowed brows while trying to contact Taehyung.
“I-I don't think there's someone with him a─”
“Goddamnit, I've told you to do an easy task, but you couldn't even do it. What do you think would happen if you let him do what he wants?!” Jungkook scolded her when Taehyung wasn't answering his calls. “Where's everyone? Go and gather everyone here!” he said through his gritted teeth as he kept calling Taehyung.
“U-understood, Sir.” Sooyoung nervously bowed her head and ran away to call everyone.
She was sure Jungkook was going to scold everyone, and she couldn't help but blame herself because she believed it was practically her fault, and now everyone was involved. But when she was out of the mansion, she felt relieved when he saw Taehyung coming in through the gate.
“Mr. Kim!” she immediately called him while running toward him.
“What's the matter, Sooyoung?” Taehyung responded, looking at her confusedly.
“I'm glad you're back now.” Sooyoung couldn't even hide her relief in her tone. “Can you please calm down Mr. Jeon? He went back tired and I think he was mad because he didn't see you right away.” she stated.
“Oh, I thought I was back first before him.” Taehyung giggled.
“I thought the same thing too. What took you so long? He's going to scold everyone out now.” Sooyoung uttered.
“Nothing, I just enjoyed the air outside.” Taehyung smiled. “Don't worry, I'll calm him down.” he assured her.
“Oh, please, do that before everyone gets upset.” Sooyoung told him.
Taehyung nodded his head and went inside the mansion. He could feel the negative presence of Jungkook in the surrounding area. It seemed like he was truly upset by his sudden disappearance. He saw Jungkook there standing there while seemed to be calling or texting and was obviously stressed.
“Jungkook?” he called the man in a soft tone.
He got the man's attention who was annoyed and anxious at the same time.
“Where have you been? Why would you insist on going alone without someone assisting you? Did you realize that you haven't fully healed yet?”
Jungkook had bombarded him with a lot of questions which made Taehyung giggle.
“Is there something funny? Do you think I'm joking here?!” Jungkook asked while glaring at him.
“No, I'm sorry, it's not like that...” Taehyung laughed softly
“You're seriously laughing right now.” Jungkook said seriously.
“I'm sorry, I just thought it was funny to be scolded by someone younger than me. It's just odd for me.” Taehyung smiled while looking at Jungkook.
“Don't smile at me, that wouldn't fix everything.” Jungkook rolled his eyes, running his fingers through his hair.
“I know,” Taehyung chuckled. “Seriously, you are worried for nothing. I'm fine, aren't I? Look, I'm standing right in front of you. Don't you think you should've calmed down now?” he replied.
“But you didn't answer my questions.” Jungkook grumbled.
“First, I went to the convenience store to buy something. Second, I didn't want to bother anyone because they were busy, and last but not the least, I'm perfectly fine, Jungkook.” Taehyung has now answered his questions. “There, are you satisfied now?” he added.
“You should've at least answered my calls,” Jungkook uttered.
“Oh, my phone was in my room. I had forgotten to bring it with me.” Taehyung told him.
“You knew yourself how dangerous it is for you to go outside. I was just being worried, I just want you to be safe.” Jungkook sighed and at least was relieved that Taehyung was now back safely.
“Thank you for your worries, but please don't mind me that much. I can take care of myself, and I'm an adult.” Taehyung giggled, assuring Jungkook that he was just doing fine.
“Just next time, make sure to tell me first, so I'll be aware of your location.” Jungkook added whole softly looking at Taehyung.
“Sure, I'll do that next time. I promise.” Taehyung smiled genuinely. “Now, I think it's unnecessary if you scold your staff, right?” he changed the topic.
“Nope, they should've known better about your situation. I've told them about it so many times.” Jungkook insisted.
“Come on, don't be such a cold-hearted person. They're not at fault here; they didn't even know that I left. Besides, I don't think I'll be allowed to assist me; I'm not their boss or something.” Taehyung stated.
“No, that's not true.” Jungkook said. “I'm basically your guardian now that you live with me. It's just fine for them to serve you just like they were doing for me.” he explained to him.
“Then, if that's the case, if I don't want them to get fired, that means they'll listen to me, right?” Taehyung grinned, keeping his eyes straight to Jungkook.
“Taehyung,” Jungkook's voice was low.
“Please, just do it for me? You'll do it, right?” Taehyung wrapped his hands around Jungkook's arm while fluttering his eyes cutely.
“Fine, just this once, a second time wouldn't work this time.” Jungkook accepted just defeat and ran his fingers through his hair.
“Thank you so much, Jungkookie.”
Taehyung smiled and unknowingly hugged Jungkook, Jungkook sighed and simply hugged him back. Well, he couldn't resist Taehyung, it's not odd, isn't it?
He's just being caring to a friend... That's the only case here.
