They walked out of the room as quick as they could manage. Amanda tried to hurry them both to the door leading to the bar. They stepped out onto the balcony and headed for the stairs. Martin spat out some blood as they went tot he first few steps. "Ugh" Jessica winced at the mess he made of his shirt. "Are you ok" Amanda asked hurriedly. Martin swallowed noticeably then coughed as he tried to speak.
"She kicked me in the balls then hit me with a weight" he struggled to say. "I told you so, you should of stuck with us" Jessica commented. Amanda whipped her head to look at the woman who held Martin higher on the steps as they walked down sideways. She pulled them both down the stairs to the floor below. "This is not the time for told you so's bitch" Amanda warned. Both Martin and Jessica looked at her with wide eyes. Amanda gapped at what she said. "I-uh sorry. I didn't mean that. I just, it's not the time." She tried to retell. She pivoted her self to take on Martins weight again on her back. The sound of steps behind them caused them all to turn around.
Amanda swerved and held Martin up. The man a little more awake now. He held his stomach where he was hit and gripped onto her shoulder. He glared out as the woman came down the steps. Hidden by the shadows of the dimly lit space. Amanda was to focused on the coming danger, she didn't even notice Jessica moving behind her. Hiding behind the two. The woman, Jake descended onto the bar floor. She stepped out of the dark and into the blue over head light of the wannabe club.
She was tall, taller then the other woman. Her long dark hair flowed over her red shirt. Which she had tucked into a pair of jeans. She smiled at them all, taking in the sight of Amanda holding up Martin. She tilted her head, her eyes dark and undetermined in color form the low lights. She settled her sights on Amanda. She raised a ringed finger and pointed at her lazily. "Are those the two ladies you were talking about earlier" she asked, her voice airy and superior sounding.
"We don't know anything" Amanda spoke up. She felt Martin's arm clamp around her. Holding on to her tighter. Jake tilted her head at Amanda. "Oh, little Bo peep here says she doesn't know anything" Jake spoke out, looing over at Martin. Amanda felt the fear of the look strike her. She gripped on to his shirt harder. Her body tensing with the need to bloc him from the woman's path. Martin shook his head rather then answering. The woman nodded at him, her sights returning to the young woman.
"Peep" she began to say. "Would you squat down for a moment" she gestured her long fingers at Amanda. Lowering her hand to show her how to go down. Amanda looked up at Martin that was supported by her. "It's fine, let him fall. He always gets back up" Jake informed. Amanda held on to him. She slowly lowered herself. Spreading out her legs to support the man as she set him on the ground. Martin held her shoulder as he settled on the ground. She squatted down beside him. Holding his arm as he held her shoulder. She gave him a look over, catching his subtle nod that he was ok.
Amanda turned her head to the woman before her. Jake took in a noticeable breath at the sight of Jessica. She stepped closer to them and smiled, clearly trying to fake ignorance. "Do I know you" she asked Jessica. She placed her hands together in an odd excitement. She began to walk around "have we met before. Where would I know you from" Jake asked, situating over by the bar. She turned her back to it and stared at Jessica. A giddy smile on her face.
"Tv" Jessica answered the woman. She kept her head facing the stairs but her eyes glanced over at Jake. The tall woman blinked at her. "What" she questioned, unsure if she heard Jessica correctly. Amanda swallowed the lump in her throat to respond. "Uh 'not my story' it's a tv show" she offered. Jake looked down at her and Martin gripped Amanda's sweater rather hard. Almost pulling her down. Jake shook her head softly.
"No but uh Martin and I did see you on a television. Just a little while ago. Having a little square dance, two guys, two girls" She chuckled at the joke. The tape playing out over the sound system in the entertainment room. Echoing down to the first floor. Amanda turned away from the supreme. She looked over at Martin, seeing the mans reframed anger. His jaw ached with it, twitching with his fury.
