"What?! Kayo na?!" 

Halos mabuga nila Mila at Sam ang drinks nila when I told them about me and Nathan. Since we weren't able to go to Happy T yesterday because we were all hungover, we just decided to chill in Gateway Mall instead. 

Kakatapos lang namin mamili sa National Bookstore ng mga kakailanganin namin sa school, kaya kumain muna kami sa Taco Bell bago mag-shopping for clothes and shoes sa loob ng Mall mamaya.

They decided to shop with me today even though they'll come back to school a few months after I will, para raw sabay-sabay kami. As for me, pasukan ko na sa Monday.

"Well... yeah." I nodded while sipping my soda, my favorite—Mountain Dew. 

Gosh, I can't even look at them in the eyes! They know me too well. They'd know I'm lying!

"But... you don't do commitments, Cali..." takang takang sabi ni Mila.

Nagulat kami nang biglang hampasin ni Sam ang table! "Did he threaten you?! Balita ko mayaman daw 'yang hilaw na koreano na 'yan eh. Did he force you into having a relationship with him?!" galit niyang tanong.

Napa-awang ang labi ko sa kanya.

Pero, si Mila ay parang nakikihati rin sa galit niya—I think she believed Sam's accusations! She looked at me furiously!

"G-Guys! Walang ganon! No, he didn't force me or anything... sadyang... it just happened that way. Kami na..."

"No. There must be something that happened! We know you , Cali!" pagpupumilit pa rin ni Sam.

"Sam's right. Something just doesn't add up..." dagdag din ni Mila, umiiling-iling pa.

Of course! The fact that this is a lie!

I sighed, "Do you not like him? Do you not like this?" pagda-drama ko kunwari.

Natigilan sila doon.

"N-No! 'Di naman sa ganon. We... we're just surpised, that's all..." sagot ni Sam.

"And also, we're just worried, we don't want you to go through that again..." si Mila.

I smiled at them, "No, I don't think Nathan is like that. Do you?" parehas silang umiling. "I... don't know. Let's see where this goes, alright? You can give him a chance, too."

Mila didn't say anything but she just nodded at me and continued to eat.

"Fine." sagot ni Sam, pero umirap  pa rin siya. Mila and I laughed because I could swear she rolled her eyes and it reached the clouds.

The weekend passed by quickly and today is the last day of my summer break. Dahil Sunday naman, I drove to Manila Cathedral para mag-simba. Maraming tao, kaya I decided to go the candle-lighting area first para magsindi ng kandila at mag-pray. Ito ang routine ko. Bago ako pumasok sa loob ng simbahan, dito muna ako dumadaan.

I was so surprised when I suddenly saw Nathan when I opened my eyes! Sa harap ko mismo! Nag-sindi rin ata siya ng kandila.

"Cali?"

"Nathan?"

Natawa kaming parehas dahil we both looked surprised to see each other and called our names at the same time.

"What are you doing here?" tanong ko.

"Um. Magsisimba?" sarkastiko niyang sagot.

I just rolled my eyes at him.
