"Whoever you are, you better bring me Marcus Fernandino. I will shoot anybody else who dares to show their face other than him."
That's what we hear from the person in the other hallway. Their voice sounds familiar, and their 'presence' is noticeable. Using my Sixth Sense View, I found out it's- "...It's June." "Whazza? What's June got to do with anything?" Ah, right, Quarter hasn't met this man yet, much less his boss. "No, I mean that guy ahead is called June. He's the bodyguard of that girl that I told you about. Mina... she's crazy, and if he's here, that means Mina is also nearby, possible up ahead where that large door is behind him. That also means that the other three are with her as well." "Yeah, but we can't get past him without confronting him, and whatever he plans on doing when you face him... it can't be good. Don't go out there, Marcus." He's acting stern out of concern for me, but I can't let that stop us now, not after how far we've come. "If he's seeking me out, then that means he's got something to tell me and can use that chance to get close to him. As long as he has the gun, we're no match, just stay here for now." "Marcus-" Before he protests any further, I trudge forward to the view of the hallway where June and I can see each other, and sure enough, he doesn't shoot me on sight. That's a relief, I was half expecting for him to just shoot me immediately even after seeing that it was me. "You!" His face starts to appear annoyed. "You pretentious brat, do you realize how much trouble you've caused to our organization and to Mina? You don't know how screwed you are tonight." "Yeah? As if I'm supposed to feel bad to a bunch of gangsters or mafia scum who take advantage of people and act like they're better than everyone when they are just parasites to society!" "You watch your mouth, you little shit!" He straightens the arm that he holds his pistol, aiming directly at my head. "Kids like you think you are going to do some good going into things you don't understand. You and that Swift Cross mob... just because you took care of some juvenile gang-wannabes doesn't mean you can just take on an organization such as ours. After tonight... you'll see just how futile your ideals are." Even after all that heavy talk, he doesn't show any remorse or hesitation. "So, what are you gonna do then? Shoot me right here? You kill me and the cops won't stop hunting you down for shooting a kid." "You naive child." He grips the gun with his other hand, now aiming at my chest, "I have no issues putting down a child who threatens to destroy our business, and you've gone past the point of just a brutal beating. I've dealt with worse people than you, you're nothing more than a fly."
He's no longer monologuing, he's ready to pull the trigger! I can sense his murderous intent as he tries to fire the gun, and as he does so, instead of a bullet passing through my chest area, nothing happens. Then a sudden explosion comes from his gun, shattering it beyond use and causing a mild burn on June's shooting hand. Ah, thank goodness my plan actually worked, I didn't expect him to monologue so much that I was able to use my psychic powers to mess with the bullet in the gun's chamber so that it misfires and has a little 'accident' when he does decide to shoot me. As he stumbles from the pain, I take the quick decision to leap forward and close the distance between us to pull off a tackle and knock him down. Somehow, he recovers from the shock abnormally fast and counters my tackle, moving to the side and shoving my forward that I stumble and roll ahead near the door that he was guarding. I quickly get up and ready myself to fight just as he is about to connect a nasty hook to my jaw which I am able to thankfully dodge. Jab, jab, dodge, swing, block, kick, dodge, punch, block, parry, I'm fighting the best that I can as June is clearly a strong and skilled fighter, far more dangerous than what I've fought so far. He's relentless and every strike he throws feels like the strength of at least 5 people behind it. If I can't beat him, I'm gonna have to make sure to slow him down, and that means I need Quarter to help me keep him away as I try to get past the door between me and that psycho. He starts trying to punch through my blocks, but when that fails, he attempts to use an uppercut directly past my block and I respond by suddenly pushing out my arms towards him to put him off balance and try to follow up with a sweeping leg attack. As expected, he jumps out of the way to dodge it, but I use my momentum to immediately get dangerously close to him before he can react, followed by pushing my hand forward in a forceful motion that sends flying back across close to the other end of the hallway. Yet despite taking the whole brunt of that force front and center, he shows no visible signs of pain, not even a flinch. Just what is this guy? "Hmph. Persistent kid. To think I worried about some- geuh?!" Quarter finally makes his move and grabs a hold of June's arms, locking them in place! "Marcus!" "Quarter! Thanks. keep him busy, I'll get the door open!" "You wouldn't-!" All of a sudden, he struggles ferociously as if his life depended on it, but I can't focus on those two as I have a door to bust open.
