Lei'wa's pov:
We went back on land after the incident. Aonung and the Chief were walking up to us. "Shit." I whisper. "Lei'wa, boys." Tonowari says, pausing. "Come with me, we need to talk. Now." He says, turning around for us to follow him. Kiri and Tuk walk to their home. I also forgot to mention that Ronal doesn't like me, or the fact i'm promised to Aonung. "Aonung says you've disrespected him?" Tonowari states what Aonung tells him. "Did he tell you the full story?" I ask, rolling my eyes the slightest way possible for him not to notice. "He told me that he walked up to you all during the breathing exercise and you told him to leave. And you told him off." Tonowari says, sounding like a dumbass for actually believing his shithead son. "No that's not all-" I say. "So you did disrespect him?" Tonowari cuts me off.
Tonowari's pov: "Just listen!" Lei'wa shouts at me. Ronal hisses at her for raising her voice. "He walked up to us and I told him to go away because he always starts shi- things. And then he stepped on lo'ak's tail and called them freaks." Lei'wa says, lowering her voice and not shouting anymore. I look at my son, staring at the sully boy. Lo'ak. "Is this true?" Ronal asks Aonung. "No mother. She's lying." Aonung says, trying to sound believable. "I knew it. Lei'wa you are not to hang out with them anymore!" Ronal yells. "Wait, wait, wait. Let's hear the sully boys part of the story." I say looking at Aonung glare at the boys, almost as if he's jealous. Both the boys say that what Lei'wa said was true, I even asked their girls. They said it was true, too. I go back to where the children are waiting to see Aonung glare at Lei'wa and get up.
Lei'wa's pov: Aonung gets up and grabs my arm, dragging me somewhere. "Aonung let me go!" I say. He stops and turns around. "Father I am aloud to talk to my mate, right?" Aonung asks. I look at Tonowari, knowing what he'll say. "Yes, you are." Both the sully boys are watching Aonung drag me away. Ronal starts to shout at Tonowari and the sully boys go back to their home. Aonung stops once he realizes i'm watching the sully boys. He lets go and turns me toward him. "This is why. This is why I don't want you around them. I mean, we leave them for 20 seconds and you can't seem to take your eyes off of them for 5 seconds. Come on, Lei'wa, this is ridiculous. You don't even look at me the way you look at that Lo'ak boy." Aonungs shouts, loud enough for everyone to hear. Everyone pauses and stares. I see Neteyam grind his teeth together and continue walking. "Why don't you ever look at me like that?" Aonung asks, grabbing my face from looking at Neteyam. I knock his hand off. "Probably because of this. Right now, the way you're acting. Like i'm yours or your prize that you won. I'm not a prize or yours!" I shout back at him. "The only reason I choose you for my mate is because I felt bad for you because both your parents are dead!" I see Neteyam stops in his tracks. "Oh so no one knew?" Aonung shouts once again, about to tell the secret I told him only. "Yeah well her father was a sky person. He was here looking for the places the tulkun stay. Her father died because he betrayed them. They killed him. Oh, and her mother," He stops, looking at me. "Her mother died in the war Payakan started." Aonungs voice dies down abit after he'd just told my secret he promised to never tell. I couldn't say anything. I was lost for words. So I just, walked away. Lo'ak comes running after me and I hear Aonung scream my name. "Lei'wa here, everything is ok." Lo'ak says, holding me tightly, infront of everyone since I couldn't walk away fast enough to get out of sight. I couldn't hold it in anymore and started crying in his arms. I suspect Neteyam continued walking toward his home. "I'm sorry, about your parents." He whispers, hugging me tighter once he realizes i'm crying.
