Lei'wa's pov: Rotxo jumps toward me. His knife barely missing my throat. We roll far back, maybe even out of sight. "Let's see how well you do surrounded by trees, hmm?" I tease him. I run to the trees and climb one of them. I point my bow and arrow at him while he is at the bottom of the tree, looking for me. "Where are you, you sneaky little-" I shoot my bow and arrow and it hits him in the stomach. Really close to the rib cage. He screamed in pain. I put my bow and arrow around me and jump on him, knocking him to the ground. "How did you arghh, climb that tree?" He questioned me. "I learned with an amazing teacher." I say, taking out my knife and cut his throat. "Ok ok," He taps the ground three times. I look up to see everyone standing around us. "I surrender." Rotxo says, my serious face turns into a smile. I take out the arrow from his stomach, making him cry and groan more. "I expected more from you, Rotxo." Aonung said, glaring and me. I shrug and walk up to Neteyam. "That tree climbing lesson came in handy." I tell him. Tonowari walks up to me. "Lei'wa is once again, our champion for the final warrior day." I hear wings flapping. It is Sanža. She screeches. "I think I have to go somewhere with Sanža really quick. Is that ok?" I ask Tonowari and Ronal. Tonowari nods, Ronal scoffs. I connect with Sanža and take off with her. She takes me to Payakan. I jump down into the water. "Hi. It's been a while, hasn't it?" I sign to Payakan. He makes clicking sounds. "You have a what!?" I exclaim
Neteyam's pov: "Mother. May I go to Lei'wa?" My mother nods. "Can I go, too?" Lo'ak asked our mother. I don't know what came over me but it felt like I didn't want him to come. I didn't want him around. We call our Ikrans and leave the same direction Lei'wa went in. We see her with Payakan. She hears our ikrans screech. "Come down quickly!" She yells. We jump off and into the water. "You are not going to believe what Payakan just told me." She says, looking at us. Lo'ak the most. "What is it?" Lo'ak asks. "Payakan says that he has a child. And that he is aloud to ride with the other Tulkun." She says in excitement, smiling, showing all her teeth. And those deep dimples of hers. We spend quite some time with Payakan. "I'm going to go. It is getting late." I say, and call my Ilu. Lei'wa hugs me from behind and says, "Well it was nice while it lasted. See you later?" She asks. "Yeah." I say, and leave on my Ilu.
Lo'ak's pov: Whenever Lei'wa hugs anyone else. My blood boils. It is almost as if I'm jealous. We spend a bit more time with Payakan and then leave for a walk on the beach.you and lo'ak (you are Tsireya)
"Lei'wa, can I ask you something?" She nods and look at me. "Do you like my brother?" She thinks for a moment. "Uh.." My ears go down. "No I don't." She says. I look back up at her. "Lo'ak do you need to tell me something?" She asks. "No I don't just wondering." She walks up in front of me. "Lo'ak that's not an answer." She says, her smile has faded. "Well that is all that you're getting, Lei'wa." I say. I don't realize how much of a dick I sound right now. "Lo'ak why do you care who I like?" She asked. "I don't! I'm just. Curious sometimes alright?" I say"Lo'ak admit it." I stare at her. She was being serious. "I don't have anything to admit." I say. "Ok then." She starts to walk away.
"Wait." I say. "I knew it." She says, smiling at me. I smile back and put my head down. "That's not very mighty warrior of you, now is it?" She says, teasing me like my brother does. "Lei'wa. I get that you're promised to Aonung and all but-" She cuts me off. "I know and I'll talk to Tonowari tomorrow. See what I can do." She says.
Lei'wa's pov: "Guys come on. It is time for bed!" Tsireya shouts loud enough for us to hear. "Coming!" Lo'ak says. He hugs me right as Neteyam walks out from behind Tsireya. "Lo'ak, you're squeezing me." I say, struggling to get those words out. "My bad." He says. "Don't forget to talk to Tonowari." He says as he walks toward Neteyam. "Talk to him about what?" I hear Neteyam ask Lo'ak as I go back to my home. I explain to Tsireya and she just sits there processing. The next morning I go to Tonowari about it. "You do know that once you are promised to someone. You can't change that. Right?" Tonowari says.
