Carl Grimes x Reader

You and Carl had been together for a while now. Fighting your way through the apocalypse. He was always there for you and you were always there for him. You were so thankful to have him by your side.
You were wandering around Alexandria, trying to find something to do when your favourite person showed up right beside you.

"Hey (Y/N)?" You turned your head and saw Carl. He was giving you a warm smile.
"Yeah?" You returned the look, turning your attention towards him.
"Fancy going out for a while? I found a cool place"
You clicked your tongue, smiling.
"Well..your dad asked me to help out with some stuff but you're more important. So of course"
Carl laughed and punched your shoulder playfully.
"You're going to get a beating from him when you get back"
You laughed too.
"I'm sure I will"

Once you were ready, you headed out. Carl took you down a trail into the woods. You talked to him the whole time, laughing along with him at jokes or genuinely taking the piss out of people. You kept going further into the woods, having to deal with two walkers which you easily handled, giving each other a high five afterwards. Then, you reached your destination.

"Here we are. It's not much but I just thought you'd like it you know?" Carl spoke to you. It was a small river, leading into a pond. There was distant sounds of birds in the background and a small gap in between the trees where you could see fields. The running water sounds calmed you and you sat down on a rock that was near the stream. Carl joined you.
"It's amazing Carl. I love it" You gave him a kiss on the cheek which his face flushed red at.
"I'm glad you like it"

There you both sat. Sitting in a comfortable silence and occasionally talking, listening to the wildlife. It was all perfect. God, you loved him. He knew you too well. Then, you had a idea. You grabbed his famous hat he always had on, and placed it on your head.
"Hey what do you think you are you doing?" Carl asked you, laughing.
"What? I haven't done anything" You pretended to act innocent but when you saw his hand reach up to grab the hat back, you quickly moved away, standing up. He laughed again.
"Give it back"
"You'll have to get it back"

You both began running around, him chasing you. You jumped and ducked under tree branches, laughing the whole time. You quickly turned to run back towards the pond but Carl caught you as you were running by it, making you and him fall straight into the pond. He landed on top of you and quickly pulled you up out of the water. His hat was off you now, bobbing along the top of the water. You were in hysterics and so was he. Your hair, his hair and both your clothes were soaked. He rolled off you and you both laid in the pond, laughing and trying to catch your breaths.
"I got it back"
"That was no fair! I could've drowned you idiot"
You splashed water at him to show your fake annoyance and he laughed and splashed you back.
"Come on, we both know I wouldn't let that happen to you"

He helped you up and out of the water and you both began your journey back home.
"God how are we going to explain this to my dad?"
You laughed at the thought, seeing Rick's completely confused face in your head.
"I have no clue"

You both got home to Alexandria, having to explain everything to Rick. You both got dried off and changed your clothes, sitting down together on the sofa. His arm was around you as you leant into him. You sighed contentedly.
"I love you Carl"
You reached your head up and kissed him softly on the lips, which he happily returned with a smile.
"I love you too (Y/N)"

You could definitely get used to this.
