"C-coma?"

"Yes, his family are on their way now. So, you can go home now-"

Without hesitation, Hitari quickly rushed to the patient's room.

She opened the door and saw him wearing an oxygen mask on the hospital bed.

"Riki . . . "

"You look so pale, who did this to you? How did this happen, Riki?" she held his hand.

She didn't know why she felt like this towards him. They were not that close. But she still cared for him without realizing it.

Suddenly, the monitor made a loud noise. It showed that Riki's heart was beating faster somehow.

"Why is your heart beating faster-"

Suddenly, someone entered the room causing Hitari to flinch.

"Hey! How dare you touch my son?! Go away!" A man who was wearing a suit entered the room.

"Who are you to touch him? He has a fiancé already! Never come near him! Understand?"

He looked at her deeply in the eyes and he reminded her of her abusive adoptive father.

"Now go away!" The man looked at Hitari in disgust and went up to Riki.

Hitari tried to hold back her tears and didn't know what was happening and why he was so mad at her. And the flashbacks started to come into her head about her abusive father.

"I'm sorry if I burdened you, sir." Hitari bowed and left the room, taking her backpack.

Then a doctor approached her.

"Hello? Did you call the ambulance?"

She nodded, "Yes, may I ask why?"

"If you had called the ambulance 10 minutes later, he could've died. You saved his life. You did a great job."

I smiled, "I just got worried about him. His heart didn't beat at all. What happened to him, doctor?"

The doctor sighed, "I think he got physically abused, because of the bruises on his body. Someone did something to him that made him not breathe. Those people who did this to him need to get arrested for that. That's attempted murder."

Hitari's eyes widened after hearing what the doctor said.

"I-I'll go now. If he wakes up, please call me by the name Hitari Kotono. My phone number is on the patients list." She bowed and left as she felt hurt and sad.

She didn't want to leave, she wanted to talk to Riki. She wanted to joke with him and hear his voice.

Suddenly she stopped walking and turned around and hesitated to leave him.

"I think it was his Dad." she managed to smile and continued walking.

Hitari still couldn't believe what happened recently, first, she got hospitalized and now he's being hospitalized.

Riki used to tease her and bully her. But still, she didn't get mad at him for that. (Yet)

It was very dark outside and Hitari made her way to go home.

"He's going to beat me up again . . ." The girl sighed and opened the door.

She took off her shoes and silently went to her room, she tried to enter her room as quiet as possible, but her 'father' still heard her.

"Hitari Kotono!"

Shit.

She slowly made her way to the kitchen where her adoptive dad was.
