V"Why is it so gloomy in here?" Amelie questioned as she and the rest of the Beauxbatons ladies followed behind Astrid.
Potions was the next and final class of the students for the day, and according to the map given to Astrid by Professor McGonagall earlier that day—the classroom is located in the dungeons.
The girls arrived at the class last, as they enter both Hogwarts students and Durmstrang were all seated, leaving a few vacant ones for the remaining ten.
Astrid did not waste time and told her fellow Beauxbatons students to find their seats. Shortly after, the door of the classroom swung open with a thud. Snape entered the room with his head held high, leaving most of the students dressed in red robes to shiver.Snape observed the bunch of teenagers as he stood upfront when his dark eyes caught bright green ones. "Ah, it is delightful to see you again, Miss LeBlanc." He uttered, "I hoped you did not have any trouble finding our classroom. I propose to keep the map of the school grounds given to you to prevent you from getting lost, again." He cocked his brow before lifting his sight back up to the rest of the class.
"In this class, there will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations." He began, "As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making." He cautioned, "However, for those selected few who possess the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." He informed. "Now," Snape trailed off as he took a glimpse at Astrid, "I will teach you how to brew the potent poison, Weedosoros." He announced as he lit the cauldron behind him, "This potion is highly poisonous with a deep purple color if brewed correctly. Take great care to keep this concoction away from your hands and mouth. If you do swallow some of this poison, immediately proceed to the Hospital Wing. The rest of us shouldn't have to be bothered with your convulsing."
Students below the fifth year gave each other looks, as a somewhat new and challenging brew was introduced to them. As for the fifth years, some let out a sigh—since the bunch has already heard and brewed the potion in their previous year.
"But professor, we already learned about this last year." A Slytherin fifth-year addressed, earning a few nods from fellow fifth-years.
"I am well aware of that, Mister Collin. But since fourth years are present—I had intended to teach this poison as a class activity, both familiarizing the fourth years how to brew it... and fifth years to recollect it." Snape's voice was sharp and direct, causing the boy in green robes to shut his mouth. "This activity will be in pairs." He announced.
As soon as those words slip out of the professors' lips, all students began chatting with each other, asking who they should pair up with. Whilst a certain Beauxbatons girl began complaining.
"Ugh—I knew it." Charlotte moaned under her breath, catching the two girls' attention who are sitting on either side of her. "We're doing babysitting."
Before the other two ladies can open their mouths to respond, Snape snapped and yelled resulting in the whole room becoming silent and all eyes were on the horrifying professor.
"Silence!" He screeched. "I shall pick the pairs."
Everyone did not bother to complain nor open their mouths to protest, most find the professor before them rather invigorating, and so, they all kept silent as Snape strutted back and forth upfront as he peered over the lot.
"The pairs will be; A fifth year and fourth year, of the opposite sex" He began, earning a few subtle sighs and grunts from the students, "The ladies of Beauxbatons will be paired with the boys of Hogwarts... whilst the ladies of Hogwarts will be paired with boys of Durmstrang. Any objections?" He asked, rather challenged.
