XXIt is a shame that Astrid was to leave England once more, but she has to. It is safer that way, leaving the country and distancing herself from all the drama. She will be able to live more freely, with a little less stress, and give Draco at least one more year to be a teenager.
Today, on August 30th, the LeBlancs held a farewell banquet. Wizarding families close to the family were all invited, and everyone was having a blast. However, Astrid wasn't enjoying herself as much.
The banquet went on for hours, but Astrid was nowhere to be found. Where is she, you may ask? Well, she's in their owlery.
The Order of the Phoenix. It seems to be a great offer, but Astrid wasn't planning to join any time soon.
Astrid's eyes were determined as she spoke. "You did mention to me before that I should know as many spells as I can," she began, "because I'm a bright witch, and it is better not to waste it."
The corner of Snape's lips tugged upward upon hearing her words. "Then join me, Astrid. Join me and the rest of the Order of the Phoenix."
"The what?"
"If you wish to win against the Dark Lord, join the Order and fight alongside Potter and his friends," Snape conveyed.
Astrid gaped at the professor, unable to form any words. "I am on no one's side, Professor."
Snape closed his mouth, his brows furrowing.
"But I will fight for the sake of my family's safety."
She declined the offer of joining sides, but she did say that she would fight for her family's safety. The reason she was in the owlery was to send a letter to Snape, informing him of her departure in a couple of minutes. She may not be part of the Order, but she is willing to associate.
"Make sure Snape gets his hands on this, all right, Raven?" Astrid whispered to her owl as it flew out and through the gloomy woods.
She let out a small huff before exiting the small shack. Upon exiting, her eyes landed on a figure leaning beside a tree.
A small smile spread across her lips as she sauntered closer. "Hey," she breathed out as she reached the figure.
"I was looking everywhere for you."
Draco was dressed in his usual black suit, but this time, he looked exceptionally handsome, leaving Astrid mentally fanning herself.
She hummed, a small smile on her lips. "I'm here now."
"Who did you send that letter to?" Draco cocked a brow.
Astrid turned her gaze past his shoulder before brushing past him. "I didn't send it to anyone," she glanced behind her.
Draco rolled his eyes and scoffed as he followed suit. "So what? You just let Raven loose?"
"Yes," she responded bluntly.
"Right," he scoffed, quickening his steps, leaving Astrid a few steps behind.
"It's true," she insisted with a small grin on her lips. "It's not like I have someone."
Draco slowed down his steps, causing Astrid to snicker.
"Are you perhaps thinking that?" she teased, causing Draco to whip his head around and scoff.
