Mrembo felt weak. Her legs refused to move. Mrembo's body was completely numb. Her breathing became hoarse. She kept gasping for air, trying to hang on to life. The spider that had bitten her must have been poisonous.
Mrembo's heart slowly stopped beating. Her eyes closed, and her body went limp.
A few minutes later, Mrembo woke up. Her fur now black.

Mrembo stood still. Her ears twitched. She heard a faint roar, and slowly walked to the entrance of the den, where the other Avox, Milly, was.
Milly sat there like a soldier. Her body refusing to move. Mrembo took her place beside the Avox, and sat down. They both sat there, staring at nothing, and as still at statues.

Cain sharpened his claws on a rock. He wanted to make sure his claws were sharp so that he was ready for any attack.
He started walking around, looking for a place to claim as his own. Cain stopped in his tracks. He stared at a path infront of him.
A lioness sat there. Her fur all black. Cain recognized her scent as Faye. But he was confused on why her fur was black now. He noticed a dead snake on the ground, and assumed she had killed the snake, but the snake might have bitten her first.
