Wandering in he went off to grab a trolley, "let's hurry up" he said, nodding we went off to get everything, flour, meat, bread, milk, coffee beans, choc chips, and the rest was at home already. Turning to Brian, I told him "Why don't you go pick something out for yourself" smiling as he went to choose something. just as he was out of view I heard familiar voices, glancing behind me I saw the kids I had minded before I went into hiding, "they've grown so much" I muttered, Brian was back with something of his choice. Just as we were about to leave, I heard "wait! I thought you weren't coming back?" it was one of the teens from before, smiling sadly I replied, "I didn't plan to come back to this town" she walked closer about to give me a hug when her brother held her back exclaiming "no, don't forget what he is he's a monster, you saw what he can be". Having not have dropped my smile I told him "Are you forgetting you were the one who wanted to know so badly? You asked for me to show you, before I left" pausing to think carefully of the words I used next, "I looked after you as if you were my own children, you promised me that you wouldn't be scared, you lied" I finished.
He then looked at Brian "you should leave before this monster does anything to you, run and get away while you still can" he told him, "He's a-" she started, "come on, we can't help him" he told her before walking away. I was surprised I had reacted at all, ignoring what had happened I continued to walk away with hoodie trailing behind. On our way back Brian asked, "who were they?" glancing at you then turning his attention back to the road, "they were kids I had looked after, I won't say anything more".
