Chapter 9
After what felt like a hundred years, the school day was finally over. I stuffed my books into the locker; in a hurry to leave these atrocious grounds, and turned to walk away.
Suddenly, I felt myself forcefully being pushed against the row of blue lockers, and a firm hand on my shoulders nearly dangled me off the floor.
I squeezed my eyes shut, as flashbacks of the drunken man entered my mind. I didn’t want to open them and allow my worst fears to be confirmed.
“Wuss.” Charlie whispered into my ears, causing my eyes to fly wide open. His nose was inches away from touching my left ear and I could feel his hot breath on my bare throat. I bit my bottom lip; trying hard not to whimper.
His eyes were more electrifying than ever, causing our gazes to be locked. I couldn’t move my brown ones away from his beautiful blue eyes.
Charlie’s eyes narrowed and he pushed me harder against the lockers. I could feel the keyhole digging into my back, but I couldn’t care less at this point. His lips softly brushed against my jawline and I inhaled sharply. What was he doing? Why did he always appear out of nowhere?!
I made sure to stay completely still as he bought his hand up to my face and gently caressed my cheeks. I could feel the heat radiating from them and hitting the palm of his hands, and his smirk gave away the fact that my cheeks were burning red.
I hated the impact he had on me. I hated the fact that I could not move away from his touch. I didn’t want to admit the last part, which kept nagging in my mind.
Just as suddenly as he had appeared, Charlie pushed himself off of me and his expression was replaced with that of pure hatred.
“You make me sick.” He spat, causing me to flinch at the enmity behind those words. My heart had been racing before, but now it felt as though the muscle had reached my windpipe. I couldn’t breathe, and I rubbed my neck; trying my upmost hardest to calm the heck down. I blinked back my tears furiously, because the last thing I wanted to do was cry in front of Charlie Mason. I hated him.
“Are you crying?” Charlie asked unbelievably, causing my eyes to swell up with fresh tears, “Gosh, you are ridiculous!”
I gritted my teeth and glared at the ground. I could still feel his touch against my cheeks and I was trying so hard not to stroke them. Wait… What on earth was I thinking? I felt like such an obsessed freak. Charlie Mason was my enemy. He tries to make my life a living Hell, I reminded myself, it wouldn’t be a great idea to get involved with him.
“Say something then.” He said, I couldn’t help but catch his eyes. Charlie’s voice had turned soft and his eyes were glued on mine. Talk about mood swings?!
