The next few days went by in no time. Soon a week was up and we all had to leave New York City. I sighed.
“Don’t hesitate to call us for help!” Miranda said as she threw her arms around us. “My girls, why do you have to leave?” Miranda asked looking like a lost abandoned child. I wanted to stay and make her happy but I couldn’t.
“Miranda, don’t, it won’t work.” Zee said smirking.
“It was worth a try.” She sighed. “It’s just that I’ll miss you girls so much, and my boys, I never got to watch them grow up and here they are and suddenly their leaving me again.” She sniffed. We sighed and pulled her in for a group hug.
“We’ll visit as soon as it’s safe.” We promised.
“Okay sweetie.” Miranda cooed. She was full of bubbly life I hoped we could visit her again. Suddenly I wondered if we would end up starring in one of the horror stories the young girls whispered to each other about runaways I never heard any of them but I knew that it was all really bad.
We hopped into the cars and drove off, the girls were fine with Jared and Jarl but now it was Caleb they wouldn’t trust. And you can all guess who they wanted to watch him, and who refused. Life sucks when you’re extremely weak willed. I sighed.
In the end Zee was driving, Caleb sat at the back between Jared and me. Caleb probably would never get used to this; the only people nice to him were Jarl and occasionally Jared. I sighed and leaned against the car door. After a few hours of staring at well…nothing… I mean no offense to people in Pennsylvania but on car rides I diss everything in sight.
But there was something odd I saw something or one in the tree…God it’s squad 26’s leader, Feliciana. The brat. “Zee, they’re here.” I said shakily.
“I know.” Zee stated. “Wait for it… … … NOW!” She yelled and we all jumped out of our cars. Well the girls and Jarl jumped out, Jared dragged Caleb out. We were just in time to cause the cars were shot right then.
I walked over to poppy and hugged her. “I love you.” I whispered. She smiled.
“I love you too Brook.” She whispered. Soon all the girls but Hannah were hugging her and whispering I love you’s Hannah simply glared at her. Zee gave her one last hug and whispered something to Hannah and she responded by saying something.
We waited for them to come before running off leaving poppy behind to her doom.
Poppy’s P.O.V
“I’m so scared.” I shakily whispered into Zee’s hair.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Zee asked.
“Yes…Can you please open the bag and read the letter’s I’ve left behind for you guys if I die.” I asked.
“Of course poppet.” Zee whispered using her old nick name for me.
“Good luck. I love you.” She told me as she pulled away. I was confused at first until I saw squad 26 coming at us. They fled and I stayed behind just as some ugly fake blond got to me I punched her in the neck heard it snap. 1 down 6 to go. Soon we were all fighting I was winning. It was finally down to Feliciana and me I was about to attack when she punched me in the face and I blacked out.
“POPPY!!!” Was the last thing I heard then.
I woke up in the cellar tied down to a chair. Opposite me was the devil himself.
“Hello Polly. How was your brief vacation?” Daddy asked kindly.
“My name is Poppy.” I corrected him.
