Brooklyn's P.O.V

“No way Poppy. You’re our sister. We are not leaving you to be killed.” Zee said with an air of finality.

“Yes Zee. Face it. My skills would be able to get me out of there. I have the best chance of escaping again.” Poppy announced smugly. Damn her. She knew she had won this argument.

“No. No way. Poppy you are not going to dad. I will not let you!” heartless roared.

“I have to Hannah. Out of all of us I’m the one with the highest chance of escaping.” Poppy said simply.

“Yeah only the highest chance out of all of us. Not the best chance, not a good chance, not even a 10% chance, Poppy you will DIE if you go!” Heartless exclaimed.

“Look Hannah, some things are worth fighting for, and sometimes even dying for. Freedom is one of them, I love you guys and I can do this, just trust me okay?” Poppy explained.

“No you don’t, if you really loved us you wouldn’t be doing this. I HATE YOU!” Heartless screeched before running out the room sobbing. Poppy looked shocked. It then became very awkward between all of us. We did our best to keep our mind of the topic but it just kept on popping up in our minds.

It was awkward until an hour before Jared’s parents came home.

“OMG I have nothing to wear! Jared is it formal, smart casual, black and white, or just casual!” I yelled. And if you haven’t already guessed, yes I was freaking out.

“For the fiftieth time it’s a casual.” Jared replied from the bed. I nodded my head and picked out a bunch of out fits.

“Are you going to try them on?” Jared asked.

“Yep, and I’ll pick the best one.” I said as he sat on the bed waiting.

“Well…go on and get changed already.” Jared said smirking.

“No.” I refused.

“Why?” he whined.

“Because you’re in the room and I’m not getting changed in front of you.” I explained.

“But I can be a big help.” Jared said trying to persuade me.

“No. Out.” I said as I pointed to the door. He mock glared at me.

“Fine but how much is that worth?” He asked smugly. I walked towards him like I was about to make out with him and backed him towards the door.

“This.” I said huskily. I moved in like I was about to kiss him, when my lips were millimeters away, I shoved him out the room and locking the door. He was banging on the door demanding I open it but I didn’t. I needed to get ready so I needed no distractions. I decided to go with a dark blue almost black tube top, with black skinny jeans and gold accessories and minimal make up only using lip gloss.

I walked out the room towards the girls. “Do you think they’ll like me? Oh god do I look like I’m trying too hard? Oh my gosh I should get changed.” I said suddenly freaking out again. I felt a pair of arms wind around my waist and kiss my neck.

“They’ll love you, you’re perfect.” He mumbled and went on kissing my neck. God it felt so good. Jailbait and Poppy cooed while the other’s gagged.

“Dude, it’s been less than a day and you’re going all soft on me. I don’t know you anymore, I feel so abandoned.” Jarl whined Caleb patted him on the back.

“Mom and dad will be here soon. I’ll go talk to them first.” Jared decided but we all ignored him and watched what Caleb and Jarl were doing...

“It’s ok man, I’m here for you.” He said pretending to be gay. Jarl decided to go along with it and wrapped his arms around Caleb.

“Oh Caleb, what will I do without you.” Jarl said in a shockingly gay voice.

“Nothing and everything my love. You’re too good for me.” Caleb responded in his gay voice.

“No you are Caleb, I love you.” Jarl said sounding even more gay than before.

“I love you to Jarl.” Caleb said as he buried his face in Jarl’s neck.

“Jarl?! Is that you?! You're gay?!” Someone shrieked. We turned around and saw Jared’s parents.

“I’m…but…no…we…i…Well this is awkward.” Jarl said visibly paling a little. We were all laughing.

“It’s okay Jarl, you always loved playing around with your mother’s make up in the first place when you were young, we’ll try and be as supportive of your transition as possible okay son.” Jared’s dad said kindly.

“Uncle Ed, Aunt Miranda! I’m not gay!” Jarl yelled as we all sniggered. Jarl was one of the least gay specimens out there. Satan was merciful and decided to help him out.

“He’s not gay.” She said rolling her eyes.

“How do you know sweetie.” Jared’s mother asked.

“Because of this.” She said as she strutted over to Jarl and started making out with him. After a few minutes she pulled away and pointed to the bulge at the front of his jeans. “If he was gay, you wouldn’t be able to see that.” She said as she pointed at the bulge.

Jarl had an expression of surprise, gratitude, anger, disappointment and amusement. “So anyway Jared, who’s the lucky girl who is your girlfriend?” And I started freaking out again.

“Hmm, I dunno…” He said as he walked toward us girls. “Girl, girl, girl, girlfriend.” He said like we were playing duck, duck, duck goose. Except when he said ‘girlfriend’ he snatched me up and spun me around and I couldn’t help but giggle.

“Oh Jared, she’s gorgeous. Call me Miranda. Oh you guys have so much to tell us!” She exclaimed.

So I told them everything. I know what you’re thinking. What the heck is she thinking? Way to make an impression. Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. But let’s face it, what could you say to them? Lie? Okay no problem, what do we tell them that sound’s perfectly sane? Whoopsie, that’s a big problem. The girls backed me up and Miranda started crying because that was the saddest story that she had ever heard. Eddie was just amused and slapped Jared on the back.

“Well son, there’s no middle line with you, your mother and I hoped your girlfriend would be a nice girl you could love who loves you back, not your money. And you did, she just happens to have a psycho for a dad.” Eddie said exasperatedly.

“Ha! See Zee! I told you Dad was a psycho! Pay up!” Satan yelled in triumph.

“Doesn’t count cause he’s a male and males have a lesser IQ than females so they don’t count. And we all know he’s a sadistic man.” Zee said offhandedly.

“Actually, Zee is right as well.” Eddie said diplomatically. Unintentionally making the already scary Satan give him a look specifically designed to scare you so bad you wet yourself.

“I’m sorry I said that. Obviously you have an IQ a lot higher than the average male almost as high as the below average female.” Zee said in an apologetic voice. I found it extremely amusing that she somehow managed to insult and complement someone in the same sentence. We all laughed and for a brief period of time, we didn’t care about Caleb, Dad or the fact Poppy was going to die. You know what they say, deal with tomorrow when tomorrow comes.
