Qingheng-jun couldn't sleep that night. The words of the man who had just spoken to him replayed in his mind. The words were simple but powerful.
He sat up, noticing the swordsman and the cook already awake at five a.m. They'd been doing their work without being told, and he knew they weren't getting paid.
"Here's tea, Qingheng-jun," the grandpa said as he cared for the kittens and the—"a dragon?"
The kids all turned to look at him. He was taken aback because their energy matched that of the three children playing with his sons.
"We're beastmen!" exclaimed the children, who were all about 12 years old. They almost knocked him off his feet with their laughter. He thought the redhead was odd, but it was his people who made him one.
He had the kind of charisma that any man would follow, and he wasn't wrong.
"What bright children."
He noticed the ghost sitting idly, unconcerned about the world.
"Good morning, Hua-ge! Please teach me the communication spell!"
The dragon chirps and raises and lowers its head. The ghost rubs his scales and pats his head.
If it had been the Cloud Recessess, they would have fought and killed this ghost. He, on the other hand, is doing nothing.
The peaceful morning came to an end with a loud explosion filling the air. As the screeching sound echoed loudly, the entire house shook violently.
Children who were sleeping awoke. Cale Henituse, who had just awoken, appeared to be equally bored.
"That's the sound of ceremonial bells ringing."
San Lang rose to his feet. Knowing where this familiar spiritual energy came from.
"That bastard."
Qingheng-jun took a close look at the San Lang, then at Cale. Cale breathed a sigh of relief.
"Are you familiar with Calamities, Hyung?"
Cale nodded. His silver shield appeared gradually. The little dragon applied ten layers of armor to the silver shield. Qingheng-jun also placed a warding talisman, but the demonic energy ripped it to dust the moment it touched the walls.
"This is dangerous."
Cale smirked and said, "So it's energy that even an ancient power is useless, huh?"
"This is not a laughing matter, Hyung."
"Can I use you, Hua-di?" Cale asked. He made some plans in case they ran into any of the villains. Cale was aware that Bai Wuxiang, or the White Calamity, was the oldest and most powerful calamity in this timeline.
"I had no idea he'd be here, Hua-di."
The sound of bells and footsteps echoed. Cale had already told San Lang about the plan.
Qingheng-jun kept his gaze fixed on the redhead. He appeared to be a man with tens of thousands of battles under his belt. Cale was not even surprised; his demeanor remained unchanged, and his expression indicated that this was a routine occurrence.
"Human.."
"Remain inside Hua-di's barrier." Even a powerful dragon's barrier pales in comparison to this malice.
Qingheng-jun already had his sword in hand. Choi Han was also preparing to launch an attack.
The loud banging sound soon reached their footsteps, and there was a brief moment of silence before the door exploded. Choi Han knelt in front of Cale, the Silver Shield blocking the majority of the debris.
