There was a long silent before Matthew talked again "I had no right to say what I said, I'm sorry for that Stella" but instead of looking at him she looked at the sky "Took you long enough to feel sorry" she said as her voice almost cracked "To come here" he interrupted her "Your brother made me feel terrible on the exact same day I said those things".

"Look Matt, I almost never care, you know that I'm all cool about pretty much everything, I'm not cool about you talking about my life without knowing" and now she was looking at him "Then tell me".

And she smirked "We do not have that level of friendship" and then she was laughing and the blue-eyes boy couldn't understand why "You may have a spider on top of your head, like a huge spider" with that Matthew stood up and  panicked, bouncing his head. Stella kept laughing "Maybe you didn't" and now she laughed harder "Nate told me about your phobia, and you totally deserved it".

"You little nasty!" He almost yelled but then he started tickling her, soon they were both laughing and almost on the floor.

"We should go for a walk" Stella smiled and Matthew couldn't say no to that smile. She opened the gate and soon he followed her.

There were barely any cars and from where they were it was only possible to see a couple sitting on a bench kissing and smiling at each other. The sky looked beautiful; the moon was brighter and bigger that night and all those stars completed the perfect painting.

"I've lived here before, so I know my best friend for longer than you can imagine" she said as they walked side by side but even before Matthew could talk as if she had regret talking about that "Have you been fighting?" But a quick no, came out of the boy's mouth "Me and Nate made a deal, and I said I wouldn't fight for two weeks, he was so happy I can't break the promise". And it was true, even though he felt like fighting sometimes he wouldn't do it, he wouldn't let down the one person who had always been there for him, the one who cared the most about him.

"You look better without all those wounds and bruises". That sentence seemed so innocent that he even felt like smiling "I'm already too wounded, too damaged to be fixed, the superficial ones don't even bother me, because those don't even come close to the ones you can't see".

Stella didn't say a thing because she already knew it, from the day she had met him. Maybe he didn't know but his deep blue eyes were not so hard to read.

"When you fight again, because I know you will, I wanna go, I want to see it" she said and now there was some excitement in her voice.

"That place is not for you, trust me, you won't fit in there" he said but the truth was he didn't want her there. He had taken Nathaniel a few times and Amber used to go to, but Nathaniel was his best friend and Amber was a girl that belonged to the street, a girl that knew how to defend herself. That was probably one of the things he most loved about her, she was so independent and so powerful it was amazing to see.

"There you are, judging me again." Stella said stopping. But he looked at her, she wore high heels, dresses and skirts almost every day "I only took one girl there" he said "Your bitchy girlfriend? Just because she is all grunge she fitted there better than I do? Seems too me she fitted there way too well" and with that she started walking again. "The way I dressed does not show who I am, I actually still thought you were better than that" it was so easy to see the disappointment in her voice that Matthew felt terrible again. "I will tell you" he simply said but she didn't answer back.

They walked side by side in silent for the long street. From time to time they would see a person or two walking and laughing loud, some clearly drunk. Stella ended up sitting on a bench and Matt stopped in front of her. "You still haven't told me anything" but she didn't even look at him "You too judgmental, I don't feel telling you anything to be honest" but then she looked up, straight into his eyes "Haven't you ever wonder why am I the only ginger in my family?" that was when the boy really thought about it, why Joe was so protective over her, why he cared so much about her past, why she cared so much about her past. "You are not Joe's sister" he stated.

"You know, that was the first thing Nathaniel asked when he met my family" she had tears in her eyes, and he sat next to her. "It's kinda funny how you never noticed" she said looking at him again "You don't see the small things around you but how could you when you don't even see the things right in front of you" she said and she was shaking, her voice was cracking. He hugged her. And now she was crying, sobbing on his shoulder, he couldn't understand, but now he didn't need to.
He realised in that moment that she was even more broken than he was and yet he had never noticed it. While she cried he looked up, and saw how beautiful the sky looked that night. He closed his eyes and heard people laughing, heard the wind blow. And he finally realised how much of the world he was missing out.
