Colby's POV
"So what did you two want to tell me?" Nate asks.
"I asked Colby to marry me."
"I knew it! Congrats," Nate says, hugging us both. "Wait, please tell me you said yes."
"Of course I did. And he's officially moved in," I say.
"Wait, I thought he already was," Nate says.
"Well, unofficially. It was just kinda understood but now it's official. We signed the lease and everything," I say.
We hang out for a while before Sam heads to bed. I stay with Nate for a bit to talk.
"So you're happy?" he asks.
"Extremely," I say then I sigh. "I regret breaking up with him. But I'm so glad I got him back. I love him."
"All that matters is you two found your way back to each other," Nate says.
"I know. But I hate that I hurt him," I say.
"I know you blame yourself. But I don't think there is anything you could do that would make Sam stop loving you."
"I just want to be worthy of him, and I don't want to lose him. He's everything to me," I say.
"I don't think you have to worry about that," he says, smiling.
"How can you be sure?" I ask.
"The way he's looking at you right now," he says.
I turn around and see Sam standing there. "Uh, hey."
"I'll see you two later," Nate says, grabbing his things and leaving.
"How much did you hear?" I ask.
"Enough to know you're worried about losing me. Which you won't. ever," he says. "Colby, I love you. That will never change."
Then he kisses me like he never has before.
-The next morning.
I wake up next to Sam and stare at the love of my life. Then I kiss him awake.
"Hi baby," he says.
Damn, that morning voice.
"Good morning love."
"Are you feeling better about things?"
"I don't know how I couldn't be after that. I mean last night was... amazing," I say. "I mean, I know you love me. But if every day is like this... I mean sleeping next to you, waking up with you, coming home to you, building a life with you, seeing you sit at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, just living with you. Marrying you. I don't know how it can get better then this. I never knew my life could be this amazing."
"That was the sweetest thing ever. God, I can't wait to marry you" he says, pecking my lips.
"I still can't believe that you asked me. It feels like a dream. But better because it's real," I say. "I'm so glad you forgave me and took me back."
"I love you, baby," he says.
"Can we just stay in bed all day? Cuddle? Watch movies?" I ask.
"Of course. There's nothing I would rather do," he says.
