Sam's POV
Colby seems off today like he's retreated into himself, overthinking.
"Colby?" I ask.
"Hmm?" he responds.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, fine."
"You can tell me," I insist.
"Seriously Sam. I'm fine."
Guess he doesn't want to talk about it. "Okay, I'll give you space then," I say, feeling a little discouraged.
I head to our shared bedroom and sit down on the bed.
-A little while later-
Colby comes into the room and sits next to me.
"Sam?"
"Yeah," I say, without looking up.
He sighs, "I'm sorry."
I look up at him. "For what?"
"I think you know. I upset you," he says, sighing again. "You're mad at me."
"Baby, no. I'm not mad," I say, taking his hand.
"You aren't? But I didn't talk to you about what I was thinking about," he says.
"Colby, I might have felt discouraged that you didn't want to talk about whatever it is. But I would never force you to talk to me. I trust you and I love you no matter what."
"I wish this was easier. I wish I could just say what's on my mind without worrying about it," he says.
"It will come with time. Just know I'm here to listen if you want to talk. And if you don't, then I'm here to hold you or give you space to think. Whatever you need," I say.
"I don't know what I did deserve you. You're amazing," he says.
