I was one of the five survivors of the Woodsboro Murders, along with Sam, Tara, Chad, and Mindy. However, ever since then, I have felt disconnected from the rest of the group. Maybe it was because I almost sided with Ghostface, who was Amber and Richie. Amber was my best friend; we were really close, and I just didn't want to lose her. I might have had a thing for her too, but she was in a relationship, so I couldn't do anything about it. I remember it like it was yesterday. Grabbing the gun from Tara's hand and pointing it at her I didn't know what I was thinking; I just felt the urge to protect Amber, even after all the shit she made us go throw. Thank God I looked back at Amber and got distracted, because if I hadn't been distracted, Tara wouldn't have had the chance to take the gun back and shoot Amber. I remember the gunshot. I remember seeing Amber's dead body lying on the floor. Sam and Tara had to drag me out of the house as I sobbed uncontrollably, desperately trying to reach out to her again.
Now we're all in college and finally feeling normal. There are no more killers after us; we are now safe. Going to college meant having to make new friends, and surprisingly, I made quite a few. There was Anika, whom I met during class. She's also Mindy's girlfriend. We immediately became best friends, and she even tried to set me up with someone. She knew about Woodsboro but encouraged me to explore the world. I became kind of uneasy whenever I started being interested in someone. Memories of Amber would flood my mind and make me back away from the person. Anika still tried to get me out there, but I just don't think I'm ready for that yet. There was Quinn, whom I met when I went over to Sam and Tara's apartment since they were roomates. Quinn also tried to hook me up with people and taught me some skills to impress people. I'm sure I'll never use them, though.
Then there was Ethan, Chad's dorky roommate. I never really talked to him before, mostly just short conversations whenever the friend group hangs out so that it wouldn't be so awkward. From what I see, Ethan's a dork. A really cute dork. Ever since I first saw him at Chad's apartment, I thought Ethan was adorable. He was also a gentleman. I'll admit, I was really into him, but I didn't want to mess up the friend group by getting with Ethan and then backing off abruptly. So I kept quiet about my feelings, bottling them up.
The party music blasts loudly, causing me to cover my ears and walk away from the source. I was at a house party with Anika, Mindy, and Tara. I was sort of surprised to see Tara here; Sam would never let her go, so I assumed she sneaked out without telling her. Pushing through the crowd of tipsy young adults, I realized that Mindy and Anika were no longer with me. I shrugged my shoulders and took a sip of my drink while I tried to maneuver through the crowd.
I finally spotted someone familiar: Chad as a shirtless cowboy with Ethan as a...cardboard knight? I stumbled towards them and smacked Chad's back jokingly.
"Hey guys! "What's up?" I slurred my words a bit. I was obviously tipsy; this was my first time at a party with alcohol. Chad turns around and pulls me into a hug. We laugh together, and then I notice Ethan staring at me. "Nice, um, nice costume. It looks good on you," he says with a hint of nervousness in his voice. I pointed to my headband, which was spray painted gold. I patted his shoulder, appreciating the compliment. We were all having a fun chat until Anika came up to us and called Chad, "Your needed big guy." Me and Ethan follow the two.
We stopped and saw Tara being brought upstairs with some pervy dude. Ethan and I remained behind Chad while he went towards them. "Hey partner, Tara's good down here," he says, and Tara looks at him annoyingly. "It's fine; I want to," Tara responds, clearly drunk and not in the right state of mind right now. "See, man, she wants to," the perv says, and he drags her up the stairs, causing her to lose balance and fall on the stairs.
Chad marches up to the perv and pulls him down the stairs aggressively while he says, "Why don't you get your fucking hands off her?" The guy tries pushing Chad away from him, and Tara refuses to stand up again. "Guys, stop it." Suddenly, another person appears in front of us.
"Sorry to interrupt," Sam says while splitting the two boys apart, "I'm just going to taze you in the balls real quick." Sam says and actually pulls out a tazer and tazes him in the crouch. She looks down at him as he groans in pain and says, "Don't touch my sister ever again". I put my hand over my mouth as I tried my hardest not to laugh. Tara glares at her sister and asks, "Are you fucking stalking me now?" She says she's pissed off before walking away.
Whispers start to fill the air: "Holy sh*t, it's that psycho killer girl." Sam runs after Tara. I gave a dirty look to whoever said that before I followed them out. I was upset about those people spreading rumors of Sam being a killer. People have been harassing her online for months because of this. If anyone should have had a rumor spread around, it should have been about me. After all, I was almost a 'traitor'.
