The bustling streets of New York City seemed to teem with life and endless possibilities as I navigated through the busy sidewalks. Each passing face held a story, a fragment of a life that intermingled with the rhythm of the city. Lost in my thoughts, I was oblivious to the world around me, until a chance encounter brought me face to face with someone who would alter the course of my journey.

As I turned a corner, absorbed in the ebb and flow of my own musings, I collided with a solid presence. Startled, I looked up to find a pair of warm, concerned eyes peering into mine. A jolt of familiarity coursed through me, a fleeting sense of connection that I couldn't quite grasp. My heart raced, searching for answers in the depths of those eyes, but all I saw was a stranger.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Im so so sooo sorry," I stammered, my voice tinged with both embarrassment and confusion. "I wasn't paying attention."

The stranger offered a kind smile, his expression laced with a touch of concern. "No need to apologize. Are you alright? You seem a bit lost."

Lost. The word hung in the air, resonating with the turmoil that raged within me. Oo nga ano? After all those years since the accident, I'm still lost. I nodded, trying to regain my composure. "I... I guess I am a little lost. Life has taken unexpected turns, and I'm still trying to find my way."

His smile widened, a glimmer of understanding in his eyes. "I think we've all been there at some point. Sometimes, the most beautiful journeys begin with being lost."

Weird lang kasi I've never seen someone glorify and romanticized being lost as a good sign of something.

His words struck a chord within me, a poignant reminder that even amidst confusion, there was room for discovery and growth. And in that moment, I realized there was something familiar about this stranger, something that tugged at the edges of my memory. But the pieces of the puzzle remained scattered, waiting to be assembled.

"I'm Greg," he introduced himself, extending a hand towards me.

I hesitated for a brief moment before reciprocating, our hands meeting in a fleeting touch. "Marinelle," I replied, my voice laced with a hint of uncertainty.

Greg's eyes widened imperceptibly, a flicker of recognition crossing his features. But he quickly masked it, hiding his emotions beneath a carefully constructed facade.

"It's nice to meet you, Marinelle," he said, his tone gentle and reassuring. "If you ever need someone to talk to or if you find yourself lost again, don't hesitate to reach out. Sometimes, a friendly face can make all the difference."

I nodded, a mixture of gratitude and confusion swirling within me. There was something about Greg that stirred emotions I couldn't fully comprehend. The way he carried himself, the warmth in his gaze, and the way he seemed to understand the battles I fought within myself. It was as if he held a key to a door I had yet to unlock.

As we bid each other farewell, a torrent of questions flooded my mind. Who was this man who seemed to touch my soul in ways I couldn't fathom? Why did his presence evoke such a strong sense of familiarity, while my memories remained veiled in shadows? Little did I know that our paths would continue to intertwine, weaving a tapestry of rediscovery, love, and unexpected revelations.

As the days unfolded, life settled into a semblance of routine. I found solace in the familiarity of my work, the controlled chaos of the hospital bringing a sense of purpose to my days. Among the hustle and bustle, I was fortunate to have two steadfast companions, Sarah and Mia, who became my pillars of support during this bewildering chapter of my life.

Sarah, with her vibrant personality and infectious laughter, was a fellow resident whose enthusiasm for medicine matched my own. Mia, on the other hand, was an experienced nurse whose wisdom and calm demeanor often provided a soothing balm to the chaos around us. Together, we formed an unbreakable bond, leaning on each other in times of uncertainty.
