Chapter 21: Finished business

Before this I had given back my weapon— I wish I hadn't.

I stood with my keys in-between my fingers & pepper spray in my other hands— surrounded by hosted henchmen with "Gold" giving me a sly smile. I should just go over the details because this is going to be a downwards spiral other wise.

-"Sorry Betty, I'm just finishing what I started."

Is she trying to kidnap me? What does she want! Okay I've got to make this quick… This is what had happened, what should I FUCKING do?!

I was driving out back home over the long way home when in the middle (sketchy wooded area) my tire blew out, but I saw what was on the road— glass shards. I've seen this before with my own eyes in the slums! I am not leaving this car. I'm gonna get jumped!

Digging in my purse I grab my pepper spray, tiny— but it would have to do. Next I took my keys, the last time someone robbed me I managed to stab him before… now to wait.

I jump out of my car and shout into the woods.

-"I KNOW YOU'RE THERE"

I expected to see a gang of raggedy teens or a few crooks. I could take them! But when I heard a familiar female laugh I knew what was going to happen.

Another and another of the henchmen form before filed in front of me and as the last one finished the circle around my car the brunette stepped in front of me.

-"You're a smart one— shame your one of them."

Gold said with her head in her palm.

And that's how I got here… Not helpful. Welp I could either negotiate, or go in guns blazing. Even if stabbing criminals and pepper spraying a few of them sounds very very appealing I physically cannot fight them they just have sheer numbers. So let's just talk it out for now… atleast until I get an advantage.

-"So uhh what do you want?"

I asked awkwardly.

-"Tsk tsk, I'm just finishing what I started!"

Gold laughed

-"What do you mean?!"

I hissed, my nice & facade falling. But I don't think it worked either way, it was only for a few seconds.

-"There's the sassy agent! Anyways we're going now."

-"Thank you! Oh my god I'm just going to walk home."

-"Oh don't get your head twisted we're going— that means you're coming with me"

-"Wait whaUHAH"

A large henchmen grabs me and flings me into the air but instead of falling I float glowing a bright red glow.

-"C'mon!"

I groan

-"Shshshsh! No if's and's or but's! Arthur, could you please make her stop blabbering?"

Gold ordered and more red glow sealed my mouth shut.

-"Thank youu~"

She said it in a sweet tone, but it felt more like she mocked me.

After a few hours we reached their hide out, but I was blindfolded & spun before we reached. So this isn't useful at all!

-"Home sweet home! I trust you've met Lunar before"

Gold took off my blindfold and I begin to see Lunar with headphones & a phone. She had an incredibly awkward expression.

-"Ugh Gold can I pull you aside for a sec? Sorry Betty"

Lunar mumbled in an apologizing tone

-"No problem."

But it was indeed problem. Lunar took Gold aside before she could answer smugly like always.

-"I told you to not fucking kidnap people!"

Lunar yelled with intense anger, so much for "taking her aside".

-"Lunar, we do what we have to do! It doesn't matter if you don't like it or not you're not apart of the business yet so you don't have a say in it. Understood?"

-"AGH I'M 19 CAN'T I HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT NOT BREAKING THE LAW?!"
