Chapter 7

Being a hero was the last thing I would've expected a few months ago. Me? An hero for someone? How could that ever happen? But here I am. Since our last battle everyone acclaimed me as their new "top fragger" since apparently me and Khazix managed to kill the guy they've been trying to get to for years, and we did it in two hours. Perks of having a voidborn on your side, I guess. Going against actual void creatures has to be horrible, and I can see my whole team get massacred in a real fight, but I hope we'll never get to that. Kayle informed me that after Malzahar's death, the void cultists were in shambles and started fighting for his succession, splitting into various factions and what not, so from what I understand we'll be free for quite some time, which means I get to spend more time with my buddy Kha and my girl Akali. There she is, still sleeping, not knowing even the slightest of what I actually do. She didn't even ask me why I returned shit faced at 5 am with cuts on my arms, and I'm glad for that, wasn't in the mood for arguments after yesterday. Now it was morning, the birds were singing outside and my girl was still sleeping, meanwhile here I was thinking about what was going to happen next. Should I tell her at some point? Maybe, yeah, we'll see, but first I have to check up on Eve. I slide down the bed and quickly shower and change my clothes, but before I can even reach the door to go to the dining room, my wristband glows. Kayle is calling for me. I press the glowing object and purple light appears all around, before I can even realize what happened I am in the Headquarter, precisely in the glass dome, where the rest of the crew is chilling.

Graves: "Ah, you finally arrived"

He said as he grinned, crossing his legs while standing

Y/N: "Where's Eve? Is she fine?"

Graves: "Your girlfriend is fine, Soraka tended to her and she should be walking again soon"

Soraka: "It wasn't easy but we managed to recover all her bodily functions and her vitals are strong, it appears she never lost hope and managed to pull through"

Cait: "For most people a void beam in the face like that means instant death, or worse, but she survived"

Graves: "yeah thanks to Y/N"

Kayle: "Thanks to luck, nothing else"

Kayle interrupted him and then looked at me with a serious tone

Kayle: "There is a reason we plan our operations and its because we dont want to lose lives, your tactic of rushing in and killing everything might seem more efficient, but it's too unpredictable and dangerous, so from now you will follow my orders"

Ahh I expected this, hopefully Ill still be able to do as I wish, they just need to realize my potential

Y/N: "I understand your points but if it wasn't for Khazix we would all be dead, I see no reason to put such a good potential away just for some safety rules"

Kayle: "He might be strong, indeed, but your tactics come with risks that we can't afford to take"

Y/N: "You don't need to, just don't die on me and I'll do the hard parts"

Kayle: "What a fool, you'll get yourself killed this way!"

She was getting a bit angry, or a bit emotional, probably both, meanwhile I was getting a bit mad

Y/N: "Yeah, sure, if it means dying for a worthy cause, then I'll die for it!"

Everyone was kinda shocked by this, except Fate, he maintained his mysterious composure and played with a card in his hand.

Fate: "The last guy who taught like that didn't die, but disappeared instead"

Y/N: "What are you talking about?"
