The Decision.

It was 2005. Sonic was now 19, and Tails was 13. Today, Tails had to make a huge decision. Whether he wanted Sonic to become his full Guardian until he's 18, or the government would find him a new home.

To say, the decision wasn't very hard would be a lie.
Tails would love for Sonic to become his full guardian, but that would mean Sonic would have to stop a lot of his daily activities, and possibly heroism, for him. A two tailed freak.

"Hey, Tails." A soft voice slowly entered the room. Footsteps were heard slowly walking towards the fox. "Have you come up with a decision yet?"

Sonic had already passed the test that would make him a capable and trustable guardian, but now it was all up to Tails. A mere Teenager.

"Hey, Sonic.." Tails said quietly, with an awkward smile. "Not yet.. But- I think I know what I want!" He looked determined. He was sure that his answer was good.

Sonic seemed to really want Tails, and he didn't doubt that. So he decided he would say he wanted to be adopted by the one and only, Sonic T. Hedgehog.

Sonic chuckled. "Ah, is that so?" He said teasily. "Well, what is it then?" He walked closer to Tails, and began rubbing his head affectionately.

Tails giggled softly, before looking up at Sonic. "I want to live with you!" His smile was so determined and bright. He was sure he has made the right decision.

Sonic seemed surprised, but then relief and joy washed over him. "W-well, I wasn't worried for a second!" He says, sort of stuttering, causing Tails to chuckle. "Guess were ready then".

After a week, they finally went to court, but were surprised to see someone they weren't expecting, that might ruin everything. Tails' Mother.

She had always been a psycho. She left Tails in a burning house for her own survival, and never told anyone. Tails knew though. He may have been 5, but he was smart. He wasn't going with her. He was sure of it. Well.. Not everyone can be right.

The turn of events startled Sonic and Tails. But, they weren't to worried about it. The judge would leave a child to an abusive mother.. Right? They were sure of it..

As the court went on, not much talking came from Sonic and Tails. They were sure, just by the child telling the judge of the events, and the mothers general appearance, which was infact ragged with eyes bloodshot red, he would leave Miles to Sonic. A capable, now young adult with a decent income as a hero.

But as the court went on, the judge seemed oddly intrigued in the Mothers story. Which was far from the truth.. And that led to some consequences.

"We have made a decision". Said the judge, pounding the gavel against the table. "I will be leaving Miles Prower, to his Biological mother".

The shock on both Sonic and Tails' face was visible, giving the mother a little smirk, before beginning to fake cry.

"Thank you so much, Judge!" She yelled, sobbing. But Tails could see the tint of mischief in her eyes. She turned to the duo, with a sad smile, before reaching out her hand. "Now.." She paused mid-sentence. "Let's go home".

Tails held onto Sonic, as if he was a lifeline. "I don't want to.." Tails whispered. Tears were threatening to crash down Sonics face, but he wouldn't let them. He looked down  to Tails with a sad smile, but eyes of fear. "Don't worry bud.." Sonic said softly. "I'll be able to visit.. Yknow that right? Once a month.. And if you ever need anything, you know where I live".

Tails' Mother was getting impatient, almost slipping up. "Come on miles, we have to go now.." She said, anger and frustration visible in her voice, but only Sonic and Tails seem to notice.

With one last shakey sigh, Sonic walked Tails over to his "mother", letting go of him.

"I'll come visit, okay..?" Sonic said quietly, only getting a nod from the young teen.

Tails' mother roughly snatched his hand away from Sonic, before giving Sonic a murderous smile.

"You can visit him next week!" She half yelled. She dragged Tails out of the court. Everyone was in silence.

As people started walking out, Sonic just stood there.

This wouldn't end well.

OKAY I KNOW I SAID I'D GET THIS OUT ON FRIDAY BUT THEN I GOT BORED AND  ADDED MORE DRAMA AND JUST COULDN'T FIND ANY MOTIVATION TO CONTINUE - But there might be a part 2 if yal like it enough! এ
