"You are so beautiful," Sirius repeatedly told his goddaughter as he, his husband Remus, and James were on babysitting duty. Peter is out of town because of his mom, again.

"I don't think that my daughter would ever suit the muggle clothes," James told his friends, "Petunia and Lily dressed her up days ago, but she suits gowns, like a princess,"

Sirius snorted, "Octavia is a princess, prongsie boy! She's heiress Potter-Black after all!"

"Moony says that he will growl at anybody who says otherwise," Remus laughed as he cradled the little girl in his arms. Octavia laughs at her uncle.

James chuckled. "Well, I won't argue with that. Octavia is definitely a princess."

As they played with the baby, the three friends talked about their lives, catching up on everything that had happened since they last saw each other. It was a nice break from their usual routines, and they all felt happy to be spending time together. As the night drew on, James and Sirius put Octavia to bed, while Remus cleaned up the kitchen. When they were done, they sat in the living room, sipping on glasses of Firewhiskey and chatting about their plans for the future.

Suddenly, Remus sat up straight, a look of concern on his face. "What's wrong?" James asked, sensing something was off.

"I just remembered something," Remus said, his brow furrowed. "Has Octavia spoken yet? I can't help but be worried, she's old enough to talk, sure she could walk, but talk?"

Sirius and James exchanged worried glances, realizing that they hadn't heard Octavia speak yet either. "I'm sure she's fine, Remus," James said, trying to reassure his friend. "She's just taking her time, that's all."

Remus didn't look convinced, but he nodded and took a sip of his drink. "I hope you're right, James. I just can't help but worry."

As the night went on, the three friends continued to talk and drink, but there was a new sense of unease in the air. They couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with Octavia.

But their worries were gone, when Lily got home and they all heard her squeal in delight,"MUMMY!"

Lily looked smug at the men inside the room, she immediately went to the crib and carried her daughter, "That's right! I'm your mummy!"

James looked particularly defeated, he wasn't his daughter's first word.

"Don't worry, James, soon enough she'll be calling us all," Remus reassured the man.

And she did, it took Octavia about a week before she started calling for all of them. She calls for them every chance they get, especially when they are in her sights.

"Paddy!" She cheered once Sirius was in sight, Sirius laughed and carried her in his arms, giving her a raspberry on her stomach to hear her laugh.

"Does our Via want to ride Padfoot?" This is a favorite pastime of theirs.

"Yes please!" Sirius turned to his animagus form and Via was riding on his back. They ran around the backyard with the little girl laughing in glee.

Lily and James were simply smiling as they watched their friend and daughter play around their little home. Octavia was their little miracle, they wouldn't change this for anything, they are willing to do a lot for her; just to keep their little Via happy.

As the weeks and months went by, Octavia continued to grow and thrive. She was a happy, curious little girl who loved exploring the world around her. Lily and James were grateful for their friends who were always there for them and their daughter. They knew that they couldn't have done it without their support.

One day, as they were all sitting together in the living room, Lily turned to her friends with a serious expression on her face. "I have something to ask you guys," she said.

"What is it, Lils?" James asked, looking concerned.

"I've been offered a job in the Ministry," Lily said. "It's a great opportunity, but it means that I'll be working long hours and I won't be able to be with Octavia as much as I want to."

Remus and Sirius exchanged a look, understanding the dilemma that Lily was facing. "We'll help you take care of her," Remus said. "We'll make sure that she's always loved and cared for, no matter what."

Sirius nodded in agreement. "We'll be here for you, Lils. You can count on us."

Lily's eyes filled with tears as she looked at her friends. "Thank you," she said. "I don't know what I would do without you guys."

As they all hugged each other, James looked around at the people he loved most in the world. He knew that they had been through so much together, but they had always come out stronger on the other side. And he knew that they would continue to be there for each other, no matter what challenges they faced in the future.

They were a family, in every sense of the word, and nothing would ever change that.

But then Dumbledore came to their door speaking about a prophecy concerning their daughter on August 1st, 1980, just days after Octavia's birthday. The news of the prophecy left the group feeling uneasy and uncertain about the future. Lily and James knew that they had to take extra precautions to protect their daughter, but they didn't know where to start. They turned to their friends for help, and together they came up with a plan.

Remus suggested that they secret-keep the Potter family, a spell that would prevent anyone from finding them unless they were told their location. Sirius, who was familiar with the spell, offered to be their secret-keeper. James was hesitant at first, knowing the danger that came with being the secret-keeper, but ultimately decided to trust his best friend.

With their plan in place, the group felt a sense of relief. They continued to live their lives as normally as possible, while taking extra precautions to keep Octavia safe. But their sense of security was short-lived, as they soon discovered that their trust had been misplaced as soon as they felt the dread when they switched to Peter as the secret keeper.

On Halloween night, Voldemort, the dark wizard who had been seeking to kill Octavia Potter as per the prophecy, attacked the Potter's home. Voldemort got their location from Peter Pettigrew, who had betrayed his friends and given the information to Voldemort.

In the chaos that followed, Lily and James were killed protecting their daughter, while Sirius was imprisoned for crimes he did not commit. Octavia was the only survivor of the attack, and was taken in by Lily's sister Petunia and her husband Vernon Dursley.
