I. Don't. Go. Home. Nope! I stay at Gabriel's house. We listen to music together, and watch a movie together (Finding Nemo if you're wondering), and then...we sleep together. Not sexual of course. I simply hop into his bed and he puts his arm around me. His warmth fills me up and makes me feel so alive. Is it wrong to be so in love with something that is not what you are and won't ever work out? Probably. But I. Don't. Care. I love Gabriel. And I will. Forever.
In the morning, Gabriel shakes me awake. I smile up at his face and messy hair. He smiles at me and gives me a quick peck on the cheek. I start to blush as he rolls out of bed and changes into skinny jeans and a tee. I walk over to him and wrap my arms around his waist. He turns to face me and kisses me on the mouth. A gentle kiss. Passionate. My first kiss.
We walk down the stairs and Gabriel grabs an apple from the kitchen. We walk out the front door and down the street. People look at us. Mostly just at Gabriel, but a few people do see me too. We make it to the school and go to Gabriel's locker. Piper bounces up to Gabriel and smiles big.
"Hey Gabe!" she says.
"Please don't call me that," he says taking out his math binder from his locker.
"You got double math today?" she asks.
"Yah," he says closing his locker and starting to walk down the hall.
Piper and I follow him.
"I have double math now too!" Piper says running to catch up to Gabriel.
I laugh and Gabriel looks back and raises an eyebrow at me. I shrug and laugh again. He shakes his head and stops outside the math door.
"I'm waiting for someone Piper so you can go in," Gabriel says.
"Okie dokie!" she says skipping into the classroom.
Gabriel's friend Vince walks up.
"Yo dude she is so into you!" he says.
"Yah but she's crazy man," Gabriel replies.
"Whatever, math time," Vince says.
Gabriel looks at me before turning and walking into the room. I follow. He takes his seat beside his friend and I walk up to the front of the classroom to prank the teacher. The teacher is at his desk and he's writing something on a piece of paper. He stands up to take attendance and I put some super glue on the teacher's chair. He sits back down again oblivious to anything I just did. I laugh. Piper raises her hand.
"Sir?" she asks, "I have a question about yesterday's homework. Question number three on page 256. Can you show us on the board?"
The teacher looks up.
"Of course dear," he says.
Piper is one of his favourite students. He stands up and the chair comes with him. Everyone bursts into laughter.
"Okay who did this?" he asks sternly.
People cover their mouths trying to stop laughing. The teacher looks at everyone crossly. Gabriel looks at me and smiles. Piper glowers at everyone. I laugh and topple over onto the floor. Gabriel starts to laugh at me and his buddy Vince joins in. Soon everyone, including the teacher, are all laughing.
After the two periods of laughing and minimal work are over, it's lunch time.
"Wanna grab some sushi?" Vince asks Gabriel as soon as the bell rings.
He looks at me. I shrug.
"Sure, why not?" he says.
We all walk down the street towards the famous sushi shop on King St. We enter the building.
"Hey boys! Want a table?" the waiter asks.
"Just takeout," Vince says.
The waiter smiles.
"What'll it be? Your usual?" she asks smiling.
"Same as always," Gabriel says.
They've obviously been here enough that the waiter knows their takeout order by now. The waiter returns five minutes late with a plastic bag and a bill.
"I've got it covered," Vince says giving the girl some cash.
We walk out of the building and to a nearby park and sit down at a picnic table. Vince pulls out the containers and hands one to Gabriel, along with a cup of soysauce. They eat and I watch painfully as I remember food. If I wasn't so stupid that night I might be eating sushi with them. Once they are done, they pack up and walk back to school.
The rest of the school day passes by in a blur. Once the final bell rings, Gabriel and I walk back to his house. I can't stand going to mine and seeing everyone's sad faces as they grieve for me. We walk inside the door of his house and I run to his bedroom and he runs up after me. He picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist, and we kiss.
