The friend group sat in their usual booth at Falafel Phil's. It was almost summer and everyone was thankful for it. Though, the kids looked a lot different now than when school started. Eliza didn't exactly like this. Before, Jack and her were almost the same height. Now, he was towering over the girl practically. It wasn't just him, it was almost all the boys in their grade. "Does your hummus smell worse than it usually does?" Eddie suddenly asked the group. "It's not the hummus." April shook her head as she spoke with food in her mouth. "It's coming from him." She pointed to Jerry next to her. "That's my new cologne." He spoke, confident laced in his tone. "It's called impurity." Jerry sprayed it causing everyone to lift their food from the table. They didn't want to taste his perfume.

Phil's food was bad enough without it. A girl giggled, interrupting the chatter. It was two teenagers at the register. "Check it out. Swathmore Academy students." Jack pointed to the two teens. "Perfect skin, perfect hair, perfect teeth." He mocked. A few people at the table looked in confusion. He kind of described himself. "Perfectly disgusting!" Kim wore an angry face, rolling her eyes.

"Put it in a doggie bag, you." The girl at the register ordered. She had long ginger hair and wore a red uniform. "It's for our dogs." She chuckled. "Can you imagine? He thought we were going to eat this." She laughed again as the boy behind her joined in. "What's next? Should we go bathe in the mall fountain?" He added. "Oh, uh not—not from 3:00 to 4:00." Jerry interrupted them. "That's Jerry time." He smirked. The girl strutted over to the booth with a smile. "Hello, Jerry. I wish I could stay, but my poor pug is starving." She faked a frown.

"Woof.." She winked at him with a smile before walking off. "Woah.." Eliza mumbled, watching her leave. The girl was pretty but she was flirting with Jerry? It confused her."My poor pug is starving. Woof." Kim mocked her. "Who talks like that?" She shook her head. "Unfortunately no one I know." Eddie sighed. "They think they're so much better than us just because they go to a private school." "Well, we are eating their dog food." Jack shrugged, taking a bite of his food. "And they're a week away from showing us up again during Seaford on parade" Milton said. "You know, I thought our float last year was a winner." Jerry added.

"It was Ernie the Janitor sitting in a shopping cart with a tube sock on his head." "Winner!" Jerry stated as if it was obvious. "I don't know why they always win the float competition. I mean, what was so impressive about their giant space shuttle last year?" Kim asked. Everyone looked at her as if she was stupid. "It flew!" They exclaimed all at once.

Eddie walked into the dojo with a smile along with a paper in his hand. "Guess what guys! I was selected to be the head of the float committee because I am the only person who even has a chance at pulling it off!" He told his friends proudly. Everyone stopped sparring, now staring at him weirdly. "No one else wanted the job, did they?" April asked from her spot on the floor. "No, they did not." He mumbled. "It's already Seaford on parade? I hate this time of year." Rudy complained. "What's wrong with Seaford on parade?" Eliza asked crossing her arms. "This is the week where the whole town is reminded of the horrible thing I let happen." He paced for a moment before suddenly stopping and looking at the ceiling.
