Maya's Promise

Chapter 1- The New Kid

"Please don't hurt her!!! Please!!" I was screaming and crying but he wouldn't let go. He kept telling me to shut up but I kept screaming. I continued screaming, I just kept screaming. While I was screaming I heard my dad's voice and the place begun to shake."MAYA!!WAKE UP!!" I shot up from my nightmare drowning in my own sweat and tears while my dad was holding me in his arms telling me it will be ok. "Are you ok?" He asked with sympathy. I was too busy catching my breath to answer. It hadn't been the first time I had these dreams where I wake up crying or screaming. Those nightmares were usually about the night I got shot and the night my mother was killed. "I'm fine dad it was just a bad dream"
"Ok , are you going to school today?"he asked.
"Do I have a choice?"
"Nope so since your fine go get ready for school"
"Fine but if I go and get into drugs and other stuff like teenage pregnancy remember you told me to go to school"
He left the room and I began to get ready.

My name is Maya Gomez. Ten years ago I was shot in my left cheek and left with a scar which lead to me to being ridiculed. One day I met this boy we dated for 8 months , I loved him until I found out he was just playing me. Since then I did surgery to remove the scar and I made a promise to myself to treat every jerk like they treated me. I know it sounds a bit dramatic but you haven't been through what I've been through.
Its now time for school its a new year with new people and new jerks to teach new lessons to. My best friend Ashley picks me up from home, we've been friends for 8 years. She stood by me while I was being ridiculed and she was there when I got the surgery on my face to remove the scar. " Hey girly" she said as I sat in the car.
"Sup budus" I call all my friends budus, its just a word I made up. We then went to get my other best friend Patrick. I said I wasn't going to date boys but I said nothing about being friends with one.
"Hey budus" Patrick said to us as he entered Ashley's red Maserati.
"Wait a minute did u just call me budus?"
"Yes, I did"
"You used my word, that's my word!!"
"Oh I'm sorry. Hi peanut"
"That's better"
Ashley parked the car and we all came out. We made our way to the school door and as soon as I stepped in the hallway someone grabbed my face and smashed their lips onto mine. I pushed the person away.
"Oh........ you" I said when I realized who it was.
"Yea its me" he said wrapping his arms around my waist pulling me to him slowly.
I laughed and removed his arms.
"Yea we're done"
I started walking away then he grabbed my hand.
"What? What do you mean?"
"Listen.....um...what's your name?" I remembered his name but I wanted him to feel bad.
"Michael" he said surprised
"Right. We're done, over, finished. Bye."
"What did I do?" He said while gripping my arm.
"You didn't do anything to me but you did do some pretty bad stuff like this to others so we're done."
"But I love you." He said with such pain, I almost felt bad for him.
"I love me too, boo boo" and with that I slid away from his grip.
I walked away and went to my chemistry class which I have with Ashley.
Guys, don't get it twisted, Michael was just another object. He's the hottest guy in school, all the girls want him and he's a jerk so he deserved what I did to him and what I intend to do to every jerk that is in my path.

While Ashley and I were in class playing with cancerous substances a new boy walks in. He has blonde hair and blue eyes looking like Luke from One Tree Hill which was my favourite show before it ended.
The teacher asked for our undivided attention while she introduced him.
"Attention everyone!! We have a new student and he's about to introduce himself" the new kid walked up front and center .
"Hi, my name is John Williams."
John, that's not a very sexy name but his voice makes my heart race, don't get it twisted though my heart always acts like this, its just my natural reaction to hot males.
The teacher told him to join a group.

"Oh my gosh, he's so hot and I know you swore off boys and everything but look at that good body " Ashley said as she admired the new kid.
"It hurts that your admiring other men infront of me, you don't talk about my body like that" Patrick says as he plays as if he is upset.
"Oh what I think about your body can't be said out loud" she said as she gets closer to him.
"Good to hear" he then places his hand on her cheek and they begin their daily make out session.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention, Ashley and Patrick are a little more than friends as you can probably see.
"Can u guys stop, I'm starting to feel like a third wheel." Patrick then breaks the kiss and comes closer to me, "If your feeling left out we can turn this into a threesome"
"No thanks, I've been told you have a small package " he then looks at Ashley who is laughing so hard that tears are trickling down her face.
"I didn't tell her that, but that was so funny." We both begin laughing and we stop when we hear someone interrupt us.
"Hi, can I join this group?" The new kid, John asked.
Ashley answered him before I was able to reply.
"Of course you can, right Maya?" She gave me that look so I had to say yes.
He then sat down right beside me, I wasn't sure if he was friend worthy or if he was just another hot jerk who needed to be put into his place. I'll be keeping my eyes on this one.
The teacher then continues, unfortunately.
" Since today is the first day we won't be doing any work so you can either leave or stay but if one of you is caught by any other teacher I will say I never let you out and you're a truant." I knew there was something I liked about this teacher.
Ashley made her way over to me with this innocent look
"Hey Maya you know I love you right?"
I knew where she was going with this and it wasn't going to happen.
"No Ashley you can't leave me here alone so you can go do whatever with Patrick!"
"Come on I'm sure you have something better to do than hang with us"
Before I could reply the teacher called me up to her table.
"Ms. Gomez do u have anything to do at this moment?"
"Well miss I -" she cut me off
"Lovely can you please show Mr. William around school?"
"Actually-"
"Lovely thank you so very much" she said as she took up her books and left the classroom. I can't believe I liked this teacher, never again will those words exit my mouth.
I walk over to John.
"I was given the pleasure to give you a tour around school " I said to john in a sarcastic manner meanwhile Ashley makes her way towards me.
"Looks like you have something to do after all " she put a smirk on her face then exited the class room with Patrick leaving the new kid and I alone.
"So its just me and you for the next hour, let's go handsome" after I turned around I realized what I had said and I froze. I then felt a breath at my ear "Dont worry you're not the first girl to call me handsome" he then walked ahead of me. " Are you coming beautiful?" I then began to walk in front of him. I don't know if he's a jerk but he sure is confident or in other words cocky and I'm stuck with him for another hour.
