Chapter 4

I entered through the glass door. Me and Danny locked eye contact and froze in our spots. I saw Danny cover his mouth with his hand. I felt tears forming. I saw Danny get tears as well.

"Haile, is that you. After all these years?" Danny asked about to cry. I smiled wide. Everyone else in the room was confused.

"Dan!" I said. He ran and gave me the biggest hug. I missed his hug so much. I started sobbing.

"Haile, I'm so sorry, so so sorry," Danny said. Keeping you close, afraid to let go. Afraid of losing you again.

"Don't ever leave me like that again," I said. I looked up at him. Danny cupped my face just like the day he left. He was crying now, also wiping my tears away at the same time.

"I never thought I would see you again, let alone hug you," Danny said. He looked back and saw his team smile. They have never seen him so happy he cried.

"You kept our promise, Haile." Danny said. I smiled, knowing he remembered our promise to each other. Danny introduced us to his team and how we know each other.

"Nice to meet you, Hailey. You obviously mean a lot to Danny, " Steve greeted. Danny smiled, pulling me closer. I smiled, buring my face in his chest.

"It's great to see you again, Halie, but I still have work to do," Danny said. I started to pout. I didn't want to leave so soon.

"No, Danny, you take the day off and reconnect with Hailey. We got it over here, " Steve said. Forcing him towards the door. We smiled and left.

We went to Danny's car. He opened my door for me. We were driving back to my hotel. I looked over at him.

"Danny, how do you feel about this place?" I asked. He looked and rolled his eyes. I laughed.

"I hate it. I honestly wish I could go back to Jersey and be with you. All the time, " Danny said. I knew he wasn't a fan of being away from Jersey, but I thought he would be used to it by now.

"How long are you staying?" Danny asked. I realized I would have to leave Danny all over again in a week.

"A week honestly wish I could stay here with you. I would never have to wonder when I'm gonna see you next, " I said. Sounding defeted. Danny's face fell at my words. We got to my hotel. I opened my hotel door.

I sat down on the bed. Danny sat next to me. I leaned my head on his shoulder. I fell asleep against Danny's shoulder. I woke up when Danny's phone started ringing.
