CHAPTER 6

Naina relished the dinner which was specially made according to her likes. Her first day in office had gone pretty well. The day was full of surprises for her. After receiving the bouquet of roses, chocolate and the special handwritten note from Sameer, she was waiting for his next move.

Naina had kept those roses in a vase next to her bedside table. She hadn't eaten the chocolate yet. She wanted to share that with him whenever they would be together, so she was going to save it for that day. And the note... It was still in her hand. She moved her fingers over his handwriting and then kissed it as if she was trying to feel his presence.

Naina was sure that Sameer would definitely do something big soon. But what, she had no idea. He was unpredictable in a way, so she couldn't guess what he was going to do next.

At the other end, Sameer was ready and had joined his teammates in the restaurant for dinner where they would party for some time, obviously without hard drinks.

The entire football team looked dapper in their outfits, especially their captain. The other patrons in the hotel couldn't take their eyes off them. All of them looked stunning.

Reyansh had arranged a huge round table for all the teammates in the center of the restaurant so that all of them could stay together. Even the security arrangements had been too tight for anyone to pass around them.

They relished the delicious meal ordered by their captain and continued chattering throughout. They teased Sameer in between their dinner while he was enjoying to the fullest. His surprise was going to please Naina, he hoped in his mind.

Sameer looked at Reyansh who understood that it was time for action. The surprise was going to astonish not only Naina but everyone else too, Reyansh was sure about it. It was time for the show to begin.

As Sameer ordered deserts for everyone, Reyansh joined them, "Guys... I have a surprise for all of you." Looking at each of them, he continued, "Kya tum sabko pataa hai ki Sameer kitna accha gaata hai? Kabhi apne captain ko gaate hue suna hai?"

His teammates were shocked hearing this. Could Sameer really sing? They had never heard him singing though, so everyone looked at him curiously. One of his teammates instantly asked, "Really... humne toh kabhi Sameer ko gaate hue nahi suna, infact isne kabhi hamare saamne gaana gaaya hi nahi, toh hume kaise pataa chalta? Aaj mauka bhi hai, iss party ko aur bhi shaandaar banaa do Sameer... Hume tumhe gaate hue sunna hai."

When Sameer acted to deny his wish, another teammate spoke, "C'mon Sameer... don't be a spoilsport now. Ab Reyansh ne itni taareef ki hai toh ab accha sa gaana sunaa bhi do."

Sameer still refused to sing, while Reyansh wanted to laugh at his boss's poor acting skills. It was clearly written on his face that he was dying to sing. Reyansh thought to himself, "Yeh Sameer bhi naa... kabse se mare jaa raha hai gaane ke liye par abhi dekho kaise nautanki kar raha hai aur maan hi nahi raha. I think it's time for action now."

Reyansh called the waiter and requested him to bring something and the waiter left with a nod. He returned in few minutes while Sameer still hadn't agreed to sing.
