"Okay, thank you Ms. Mayor." All this week I have been answering questions from the police. And its even worse since my outburst at Derrick that day sort of spooked him out.

My dad came and visited me yesterday along with Cassie. She felt so bad she even cried herself to sleep on the chair. The guilt is literally eating her alive, but I don't know why she even feels guilty. She done nothing wrong I'm the one who wanted to save her and I did just that.

My dad was ecstatic. But since he is so protective he hired 2 bodyguards to be with me at all times. The bodyguards that are standing right outside my hospital bedroom door.

I grabbed the remote and turned the tv on.

"This just in that Jessica Mayor-" I quickly changed the channel not wanting to hear what they had to say. That shall I've been hearing since they found me. I turned the tv off and just looked out the window. I heard the door open and i turned to see who it was.

"Morning, Jessica." He gives me nervous smile.

"Derrick?" I say. "What are you doing here?"

"I just stopped by to say hi, but then I overheard that you were being discharged this afternoon." He exclaimed. I nudged my head towards the chair next to the bed indicating to take a seat.

He came and sat down awkwardly. "So, how do you feel?" He asked after a moment of silence.

"I feel like shit." He chuckled. I glared at him and he just grinned. "Yeah, well shit happens. That dude who kidnapped you was total psycho." No kidding...

"Did you know what he wanted from you?" I shook my head. "Not really, I was to scared out of ny freaking mind to even pay attention to him, let alone listen to him."

"So, how-" I cut him off. "I-I don't want to talk about it." He nodded in understanding.

"Well, I better go. I'll see you later." I waved and he left closing the door behind him.

I was discharged out of the hospital an a couple hours ago and taken to my new home since my dad decided to have me stay here where I can work easily with Mr. Henderson.

Like their supposed to do, my newly employed body guards followed me out of the elevator and stayed in front of my penthouse door.

"You guys can come in if you like?" I said as I unlocked the door. They shook their heads.

"No thank you Miss, we're good out here." I sighed. "I'm bringing you guys a bottle of water." I walked into the kitchen opening the fridge and taking out two bottles of cold water.

I heard my phone ringing in my purse. I searched for it before I checked the caller Id displaying a number I didn't know.

I hastily picked it up. "Hello?" I answered.

"Hey, Jessica it's Derrick." My heart began to beat at its regular pace. "On, hey uh Derrick... is there something I can help you with?" I questioned walking back to the bodyguards.

"I was just wondering how your settling down in your new home." I raised a brow. I handed both of them a bottle of water and continued to speak.

"How'd you know about that?" I asked.

"I'm the one who bought it for you." I looked up to see the two of them staring at me before snapping their eyes back staring straight ahead. I rolled my eyes and walked back inside the room.

"Why would you do that?" I sighed running my hands through my hair.

"I wanted to save your dad the trouble." I groaned. I hate when people do these kinds of things for me. I can do them myself but instead I just calmed myself down.

"Um, well thank you. How can j pay you back?" I heard him chuckle on the other end.

"How about dinner?" I was taken back by his offer.

"Dinner?" I repeated.

"Yeah, when people go eat and-"

"Yeah, I know what dinner is." I snapped. He laughed, "Chill, I'm just teasing you." I rolled my eyes.

"Okay... yeah, sure. When?" I rubbed my eyes. I'm tired.

"How about tomorrow 8' o'clock. My house, I'll send my driver to pick you up."

"Okay, see you tomorrow."
