When Toji opens his eyes in the morning, he wakes up to an empty house. He doesn't remember the last time he woke up to find the house empty on a weekend. The man isn't sure if he likes the silence or if he hates it. He does know that he misses the little bugger that lives with him– However, he does appreciate sleeping in.
He sits, looking awkwardly around the place. He doesn't know what to do with himself now. He can do all the housework, but should he really be wasting his free time doing housework? He doesn't know the next time he'll have a childfree weekend.
He finally stands up and walks to the bathroom to begin getting ready for the day. He isn't sure what he'll do first, but he isn't going out of his apartment nearly naked. So he brushes his teeth, takes a quick shower, then puts on some clothes before he exits the apartment.
Now outside, Toji doesn't really know what to do. Maybe he should get some breakfast since he doesn't have anything to eat at his apartment. And as he takes in the sunlight, he thinks about you. He walks to your door and knocks. He wonders if it's too early to be knocking, but to his surprise, when you open the door, you're all ready.
"Oh, hey Toji. Nice to see you're alive." You greet him, and he cocks his eyebrow, absolutely confused as to what you say. You saw each other last night, he doesn't understand why you'd say that last sentence.
"What do you mean by that?" Toji questions.
"I knocked on your door at around ten, planning to ask if you wanted to get some breakfast. Not a single word from the other side of the door." You answer, and he furrows his eyebrows.
 "What time is it?"
"It's noon." You tell him, and his eyes widen. He didn't realize how late it was. He slept a lot– Well not that much since he fell asleep late. He had a lot in his mind last night, and he couldn't fall asleep. You hear his stomach growl, and you chuckle, "And I can hear that you're hungry."
"Yeah..." He awkwardly laughs. You walk back inside to get your purse, and come out, closing the door behind you.
"Let's go out to lunch." You smile at him, and he nods in response. You both begin to walk to his car.
"Where do you want to go?" Toji asks, trying to know where he's headed before he gets into the car. You shrug as you look at him, and he clicks his tongue. "What do you mean you don't know? You're the one that suggested we go out."
"Well, you're the one that's hungry." You respond because you won't admit that you're indecisive and have no idea where to go. "Plus, I decided where to go last night. It's your turn."
"Fine. But you better not have any plans because where we're eating is an hour away." He tells you, and you smile at him. When you get to his car, he opens the door for you. You thank him before getting into the passenger's seat. He shuts the door and walks to the driver's side. While you wait, you check your phone.
He gets into the car and doesn't wait a minute to turn it on and begin the drive. You stop looking at your phone and begin to look out the window, trying to see if you can figure out where you're going. He doesn't play any music, and you begin to feel awkward as he quietly drives– Usually you're with Megumi in the silence. But you're not today. Yesterday you were too tired to care, both in the morning and in the afternoon when he picked you up.
"How'd you sleep? You were really knocked out when I was at your door." You comment. He scratches the back of his neck, awkwardly chuckling.
"I feel like I barely slept, if we're being honest." He answers. "I couldn't fall asleep last night. When we got home, it took me four hours to fall asleep."
