Chaper Two

As I approached my locker I saw my bestie Lindsey standing with her back to me. Her long golden hair was hanging down her back, she's wearing some white shorts with a black crop top that showed her elephant tattoo on her side, with her white spiked combat boots. Even though she's 5"4' she's the one of the feistiest people I know. Aside from myself of course.
"Hey sexy!" I call as I get closer to my locker. She looks up at me with her big hazel eyes and immediately embraces me in a hug.
"Well I missed you too!!" I laughed out as she lets me go.
"Sorry" she said, "but I just..." she stopped mid sentence and grabbed my hand. "Oh my damn!! Do you smell that!! It smells like coffee and..and.. yumminess..!!"
Just as I start to speak, I hear someone growl out the word "MINE". I look up and she's looking at Jace with Kya in his arms. He stopped kissing Kya which made her mad, she started yelling at him, but he paid no attention to her. He started sniffing the air and immediately locked eyes with Lindsey. He rushed over to Lindsey only to have her slap the hell out of him. I'm a hundred percent sure my eyes almost popped out of my head when she did that. She just slapped Jace , the beta of the Red Moon pack that neighbors us. The hallway got quite and then the bell rang.
**Saved by the bell!!** I thought as I grabbed her arm and ran to our first hour!
"Dear Lord girl, do you have a death wish!?!" I yell whispered at her.
She looked at me like I was the crazy one!!
"Did you not see him with with that skank?? I should have kicked him in the balls. Screw that jerk, I don't need him." She whisper yelled back at me.
At lunch we were sitting at our table with Cole, Jacob, Jimmy, (my dad's betas' son and my soon to be beta), Jacey, Gwenisha and Stacia (my other best friends), and other members from my pack. When Jace walked up to Lindsey. Jimmy stood up and looked at him, he had a low growl coming from deep in his chest. It made me shiver; even though I was soon to be alpha, Jimmy was powerful. Standing at 6"3' long, lean, and muscular. His shaggy sandy brown hair coming to a stop just above his deep blue eyes, which are now black orbs due to Jace being here. I cleared my throat and mind linked Jimmy that Jace was Lindsey's mate so he calmed down. Jace growled lightly and raised his eyebrows when I silenced Jimmy.
"Um.. Lindsey can I speak to you.. in private..?" He stammered.
"Why don't you go talk to Kya, I'm sure she wants you back, seeing as how you were wrapped around her everyday!!" Lindsey snapped.
Jace growled at her and I stood up, "Don't you fucking growl at my best friend, you ass, I don't care if you're a beta. I'm an alpha so backup. She doesn't want to talk to you right now and I don't blame her. Who wants to see their mate lip locked with a slut? No. One. Let her have her space and just leave. Go back to your little play toy and let us eat in peace." I snapped at him in my alpha voice, while starring daggers at him.
Jace felt the power emanating off me, he lowered his head and walked back to his table, but not before giving Lindsey one last look of sadness. After Jace left, Lindsey burst into tears. I picked her up from the table and took her outside for more air.
**Jace's Point of View***
Walking out of the house today in my black shirt with my dark jeans completed with my white Jordan's, I felt good! My dark chocolate colored hair was wind tousled and I have to admit I looked good. Keller, my wolf, had been saying we need to get rid or Kya and prepare to find our mate but I didn't want to. She dulled the pain of not having a mate so I kept her close. I yelled for her to come on and we got in the car and headed for school.
We got out and walked up the doors. All of a sudden I felt her lips on me and I deepened the kiss. Then it hit me, she smelled like Lilies mixed with vanilla. Although I'm not a flower kind of guy it smelled amazing and I have to admit my mouth started watering. I pushed Kya away and of course she started yelling at me asking if I was stupid. I paid her no attention.
Then I heard someone say mate and I snapped my eyes up and looked around. Once I did my eyes landed on Lindsey. She looked amazing, her golden hair seemed to be shining and her big beautiful hazel eyes captivated me. I had to have her, so I started walking to her. I got to her and she slapped me. I couldn't react to it because the bell rang. I just stood there stricken with shock.
**Look what you did you idiot now she hates us!! I TOLD YOU!!** Keller yelled at me. I just looked down at the ground and walked to class. The day drug on and I was thinking of ways to win Lindsey back. Kya tried to run on my leg in class. I growled at her and told her to keep her hands to herself or she'd lose them.
Finally lunch came and I had to talk to her so I walked over to the table she sat at. Jimmy jumped up growling and then all at once he stopped when Jassi cleared her throat. She must have linked him something because his eyes glazed over then he sat down. I growled lightly at him and then raised my brows in confusion after he sat down.
Um.. Lindsey can I speak to you.. in private..?" I stammered. What's wrong with me I don't stammer and I'm not nervous?!?
"Why don't you go talk to Kya, I'm sure she wants you back, seeing as how you were wrapped around her everyday!!" She snapped at me.. I was hurt for a second then I got angry, you don't talk to me like that I am a Beta I thought. I let out a growl and Jassi stood up, "Don't you fucking growl at my best friend, you ass, I don't care if you're a beta. I'm an alpha so backup. She doesn't want to talk to you right now and I don't blame her. Who wants to see their mate lip locked with a slut? No. One. Let her have her space and just leave. Go back to your little play toy and let us eat in peace." She snapped at me, while starring daggers at me. I swear if looks could kill.. I'd be dead.
**You deserve to be for treating our mate like this. We're supposed to make her happy not hurt her and look, she hates us and we've only had her half a day you moron.** Keller snapped at me, then cut the connection. I let out a sigh of frustration and left lunch. I lost my appetite.
A flash of pain came over me as I realized her words were truthful. I felt the power emanating off Jassi and I knew not to push it, so I lowered my head in submission and walked back to my table, but not before giving Lindsey one last look of sadness.
***Jassi Point of View***
"I..I.. why did he..ha-ve to be with HER.. she's a slut he could have saved himself for his mate.. Why do guys get to be man whores but we save ourselves for them anyways.. Why Jassi .?? What did I do?? He knew he'd find his mate but..he just couldn't keep it in his pants.. I'M GONNA FUCKING CUT IT OFF AND SHOUVE IT DOWN HIS THROAT!!" Lindsey stammered and then yelled harshly.
I could see her hazel eyes swirling with black, her wolf is trying to come out. Oh gosh, I have to calm her down. So I start talking about food. That's the one thing that she can't resist.
"You know what..? I want some chocolate covered strawberries. You wanna get some?" I tentatively asked her hoping that would get her attention. Sure enough she was calming down and her hazel eyes were back, even though they were puffy and red, they were still hazel. It broke my heart to see my bestie like this.
**He's such an ass, I can't believe Jace would be with Kya!! She probably has a disease!!** I thought to myself as I picked my bestie up and we walked off campus to the candy store. I mind linked Jimmy and told him where we were going. I'm gonna get in trouble for ditching, but screw it my girl needs me.
