I'm backkk.
Fast forward, 3 weeks later
So my mother and I are officially out of the Negol Estates. We are currently living with her colleague from work. I was actually disappointed when I learnt we were to perch at her Co worker's place because she couldn't afford an apartment yet. Nevertheless, I'm still grateful to the man for taking us in.
I work at a small bar down town. I'm a bartender there and every Friday, for the past few weeks, my friends come over and we chill. I was actually free on Fridays. Mum is not happy about me working in a bar but I'm very careful.
It was Friday as usual and I was at home eating anything I could lay my hands on. We would go to the pub later in the night but for the mean time, it was the TV, me and the snacks.
Fred, our kind benefactor and my mum were already gone to work leaving the house in my care. Great! I dialed Prilla's number and it went straight to voice mail. Next was Jace's number but it was still the usual 'The number dialed cannot be accessed at the moment. Kindly try again later.'
Ever since Jace left, I've missed him like crap but he's never called or texted. None of us have heard about him since he left. I was kinda mad at him because I never got to say a proper goodbye and the fact that he left with Taiya was just killing me inside.
When I got up to fetch myself some more ice cream, I felt the world spin under my foot. Damn, this sugar is doing some things to my body. My head was heavy and I felt the urge to empty my stomach. I rushed to the toilet and emptied my stomach of everything I had eaten. Next, I got myself some ginger ale.
I came back to the sofa and made myself comfortable once more. I called Layla next and she answered my call. Oh finally.
"Hey Lay,"
"Hey baby girl sup."
"It's nothing I just wanted someone to talk to."
"Owww you miss Jace don't you? "
"Come on, I'm just bored."
"Yeah that's why we have today's outing coming off live and colored."
"Yeah... I don't think I'll be able to make it."
"What?! You've got to be kidding with me Tee."
"I'm for real. I'm just feeling sick all of a sudden and I can barely move right now."
"Excuse me? That's no reason for you to back out. Well it's like you have nothing doing. I'll came take you to my house right away."
I started to whine. "No. I don't wanna get-" she ended the call. Wow that meant she's not taking no for an answer.
I pushed my lazy ass to the room i shared with my mum. I chose to go for a black fit-the-body straight dress that reached just above my knee. And a knee length two inch heel. I would have worn a longer inch but for my current feeling.
In less than 20 minutes, Layla called again to tell me she was waiting outside.
I went out to meet her and boy was she looking good. Her makeup was totally on point while I had my face bare. Her hair was neatly relaxed and was falling on her shoulders. She preferred not braiding her hair for now. My hair on the other hand was neatly pulled into and afro bun with a Versace scarf I had gotten from Jace to cover my scalp and leave the bun uncovered.
"You look very good girl. But my magic needs to work a teensy bit on your face."
"I'm not even gonna argue because I know you won't take no for an answer."
