Eternity Chapter 11

Damien's POV

I sat in my study staring at the wall waiting for the day to end. I knew it only meant another day was coming but I didn't care. She was gone none of it mattered anymore. I watched time tick by and I wished it would all end.

" Damien", a small voice said and I saw Kay on the doorway with food. " Hey Kat", I said sitting up. She ate my leftovers neither of us were hungry. Kat understood she and Amanda had been thick as thieves. " It's my fault", she said absentmindedly. " What is?", I asked twisting my fork around. " Amy dying I could have done something but I didn't", she said distractedly. " It's not your fault Kat it's no one's fault", I said standing up. " No it's his", she said upset. It was Drake's fault he was the witch twin's brother and he was the one who killed Amanda! I hated him more than anyone else in the world because he took her away from me. We'd never found the body but we didn't need to she was gone. This time though it was for good.

Once we finished eating I put her DVD in and watched that camp trip again. I couldn't think of anyone else but Amanda she had been my everything. Things were bad enough without this. Miranda was pregnant, everyone was in denial and the cops were investigating and watching us. We hadn't gone wolf since we came back just to be cautious. Amanda's pack barely ever ate they'd killed people and that didn't go away. I'd been part of it but I never killed anyone. I'd done things though things I wished I'd forgotten. I'd attacked Amanda, raped her and tortured her. I'd never be able to make it right because it was over.

“ You can’t just leave”, I heard someone say outside my door. “ I’m sorry Miranda but this is getting too out of control you should leave too”, I heard Bane say. “ You know I can’t”, Miranda snapped. “ I’m sorry then I have to do this love I hope I see you both soon goodbye”, he said then I heard walking and then the front door closing. There was a knock on my door a few minutes later and Kat went to answer it. “ What do you want?”, she said harshly. “ Kat, Damien I know you both hate me and I know I’m asking a lot but I need a place to stay”, Miranda said stepping in. “ Sure whatever just don’t bite anyone”, I said emotionlessly. “ Okay thank you”, she said starting out. “ You do know she was in love with you right”, she said looking back, “ even after the accident I didn’t figure it out until that day she really was special wasn’t she”.

“ She was”, Kat said sadly. “ I know you won’t believe me but I really do miss her and I know it’s my fault”, she said quietly. “ It’s not anyone’s fault but his and he’ll pay for it”, I said seriously. “ Okay good night”, she said then left closing the door behind her. “ She really does care about someone besides herself”, Kat said sitting back down. “ And Amanda of all people she really must have gotten to her”, I said looking back at the screen. Amanda got to everyone with that laugh, smile over all the way she was. I needed to hear what Miranda had said. I couldn’t believe she had still loved me even after what I did but then again Amanda had forgiven me everything else. I pulled the little box that had once held her ring and opened it and closed it. “ It’s like she was never here she took the shoebox and her clothes its like she knew”, Kat said as the movie ended. “ She did”, Jordan said sitting down on the other chair, “ she told Miranda everything would work out but she won’t be there to see it”.

“ She always wanted to go out with a bang”, I said staring at the blue screen.

“ She went out fighting you should have seen her she was incredible”, Jordan said. “ She always was”, I said depressed. “ Miranda was right though she did love you that day she found the solution and I’d never seen more happy other than the day she went to jail”, he said quickly. “ Thank you”, I said appreciatively. “ No problem I just though I should tell you guys I’m leaving tomorrow”, he said getting up. “ Thank you for everything you did”, I said as we shook hands. “ Bye Jordy”, Kat said hugging him and then he left going back to his room. Something was wrong here somehow I knew the fight wasn’t over.

Danny’s POV

I couldn’t believe what we’d done to those people. I was past shame I felt sick like I belonged in the ground with them. Red was dead she was our leader what would we do now? Where would we go? I didn’t want to be happy ever again not after all this. I couldn’t imagine Damien was feeling but Red was like a mother to me she’d always cared for me making things easier for all of us. She’d paid for me to go to school and she helped me whenever I asked. The others didn’t think I understood because I was the youngest but I knew. We’d kill five people we’d destroy any chance at normality we were savages. I never wanted to go wolf again.

I heard a knock on the outside door and went to answer it. “ Danielle Abbott”, he asked. He was a cop I knew it immediately he was wearing his uniform. “ Yes officer”, I said calmly. “ I’m here to investigate some local animal attacks”, he said walking in, “ now where are Mr. and Mrs. Darwin”. “ They went out to the market”, I said quickly. “ Okay then are Roan Peters, Ralph Banner, David Willis and Barbara Fisher here”, he asked. Barbara was Blondie’s real first name. “ Roan”, I called. They all came in and saw the officer and looked at me. I gave them a nod and they came over. “ What can we do for you officer”, Roan asked. “ There was some recent animal attacks around this property we think you might be involved with”, he said sourly. “ We don’t quite understand officer”, Ralph said. “ No you don’t but I’ll crack this case eventually so you kids better watch it”, he said then left without another word.

“ That was serial”, Blondie said sitting down. “ Maybe we should just hand ourselves in”, Davy said. “ And say what sorry we’re werewolves they’d send us to the mental institution”, I said seriously. “ Danny calm down we just need to fix this”, Roan said. “ We can’t fix this they’re dead Red’s dead it’s over”, I said then ran to Kat’s room slamming the door behind me. I didn’t want to be a killer but that’s what I was now. I couldn’t fix this is Red was here maybe but not without her nothing made sense anymore.
