Is Islam difficult?

It is impossible to completely follow the major obligations and stay away from the major sins in Islam today, many people say. After all, in today's world, the education system and work ethics weren't designed with Muslims in mind. How will you pray 5 times a day? And entertainment is a big part of public consciousness, how does a person even stay away from things like music, movies, series', anime, etc? And how do you lower your eyes when haram is literally everywhere? And how do you not backbite people?
The thing is, the answer to all of this boils down to one question: are we trying to fulfill our real purpose of life? That is, to worship Allah? Most of us aren't. We're trying to build a career, or perhaps trying to please our parents or get married to someone in particular, or simply trying to have fun or relax.
But our primary focus should be to worship Allah, and everything else should come second. The 5 daily obligatory prayers must be fulfilled no matter what the case is. It doesn't take that long, nor is it that physically demanding. It takes about 10 minutes per prayer if you just pray the fardh, if you're busy with school or work or something else. You can also pray just about anywhere as long as it doesn't clearly have impurities. If you're travelling and can't take that long, you can shorten your prayers. If making time is difficult for you for any valid reason, or if you're ill or unable for some reason, you can join dhuhr and asr, and maghrib and Isha. If you're unable to pray standing up, then you can pray sitting down and if you're unable to do that, you can pray lying down even. You have to do wudu, but if you're wearing socks you can just wipe over them unless there's a major impurity. If you're sick or can't find water, you can do tayammum.
How to stay away from haram things like music and lower your eyes from looking at haram? That also can be solved by the previous question: does your life revolve around worshipping Allah? If you're spending most of your time worshipping Allah, and doing dhikr of Him, there will be no place for sinful thoughts in your mind. After all, an idle mind is Shaytan's playground. But a heart that remembers Allah at all times finds peace and isn't affected by Shaytan's whispers. You'll only be bored and tempted to use haram means of entertainment if you're being idle when not doing something of necessity. This is why we should stay away from laghwah, meaningless talk and acts. If you meet your friends just to gossip and do fun things, rather than meeting them for the sake of Allah and departing from them for the sake of Allah, you're bound to get into meaningless conversations and acts, which leads us to things like gheebah and other sinful conversations and acts like listening to music or going to concerts and movies. Having fun with friends isn't haram, nor is it haram to take a break to feel refreshed, but we should remember not to turn life into fun and games, rather the dhikr of Allah is our purpose.
Scheduling our lives around our obligations including prayers will certainly allow us to fulfill said obligations, it will also allow us to stay away from laghwah which leads to other haram things as well. We can do it if we want and if we try, Allah make it easy for us to remain steadfast upon the deen in Shaa Allah. May Allah allow us to be successful in this life and the next, and may Allah make following this deen easy for us.
