Chapter 4

*Y/n's POV*

-A few hours later-

So, I'm stuck here now. A prisoner of Bowser and his Koopa Cronies. Kamek had led me back and forth between places, and I'd finally met Bowser himself. I was now, however, stuck in a small, bare room. It wasn't cold or unpleasant, it just happened to be inhabited in unfortunate circumstances.

My thoughts were interrupted by a heavy knock on the door.

"Come in," I answered, and the door opened to reveal Bowser. I sighed in slight annoyance at the sight of him.

"I have taken the personal choice to give you a 'tour' around my castle, if you like of course,"

I thought for a while, still looking at Bowser.

But I swear... there's a tint of pink dusted on his scaled cheeks... or that might just be my imagination again, thanks to this stupid castle and all.

I sighed.

"I have nothing better to do here... go ahead..."

Bowser's eyes lit up instantaneously, beginning to lead me out of my room and into the expansive walls of the castle. As Bowser explained the ins and outs of his kingdom, my mind wandered off to other things.

"Why me... of all people?" I accidentally spoke aloud, getting Bowser's full attention.

We both stopped walking. Bowser didn't look me in the eyes as he pondered his response.

"This is simply one of those things we cannot speak of-"

"King Koopa, this is a serious question,"

He paused yet again, this time looking at me with an apologetic glint in his eyes.

"I seem to have certain... feelings towards your sister... and you must have already guessed that I 'took' you to get closer to her..."

I stared back at Bowser in dismay. He only took me to get closer to Peach?!

"Bowser... I declare this tour finished. I'll be in my room... well, where else would I be?"

I walked off, leaving Bowser to swallow his regret for how he revealed the situation.

Entering my room once more, I flopped on my bed lazily and sighed heavily. He just had to ruin things.

I remember, from a few years ago now, I'd heard about him from Toadette. At that time he acted as a friendly neighbour to the nearby Kingdoms, but of course he changed. But before his sudden change, it became clear to me that I had grown feelings for the King.

Now, after his confession to liking me, those feelings I once had were gone.

Or at least, at that moment they were...
