New year, a fresh chapter, more entertainment.
Prince released "Parade" first, twelve brilliant tracks in all. As light or pain blended Jazz, Funk, and everything else in between, he reinvented himself once more. Without fail, I expected nothing less from him.
Once "Under The Cherry Moon'' premiered at last, MTV broadcasted this nationwide contest and invited winner Lisa Barber for the main event. I laughed much harder when different stars touched down. Every other second as I happily kept watching footage, squealing fans would lose their minds whenever the band spoke up.
Pictures taken in Sheridan, Wyoming looked adorable, especially when Prince doted over Lisa Barber with generosity and theatrics. I never once complained, grateful that he could enjoy himself and help this young woman feel special on that wonderful day.
The remarkable "Cherry Moon" bash had ended with Prince offering this short yet amazing concert to 500 screaming people after credits rolled. From "Raspberry Beret" to "Mutiny" and of course ending with "Purple Rain," no one stopped grooving. Impossible to stop.
