I cancelled everything, hopping on the next plane to immediately join Prince in Minnesota.

Not only did Prince look out for Charles's family, The Huntsberrys', during that funeral, but he also arranged this benefit concert. All proceeds would cover bereavement or different expenses surrounding Linda and the beautiful children.

My heart soared.

Prince charged right through the amazing concert like a champ, making his point to end with "Partyman" and just keep grinning for this small yet loving crowd. I just knew that any slower choice would've dampened his mood on quite a somber day.

Once the show ended, Prince finally teared up after saying goodbye to Charles's family and hugged me closer, cementing this embrace. I never let go first, allowing him to grieve without judgement. There was no other choice, especially right now.

"Whatever you want to do next, I'm here." I vowed. Prince held my hands, but looked down at the carpeted floor that grounded this muggy dressing room.

"Let's go home." Prince whispered, blinking with saddened eyes.
