Steven's POV

Today was easy.
Signed off class schedules, healed hurt gems, and had lunch with the gems.
It was great. There were a few bumps in the road but now, everything was going smoothly.
We FINALLY had our happily ever after

the gems and I returned home around 3:30 PM

Amethyst and Garnet exited to their rooms while Pearl and I stayed in the living room chatting. We talked for a good few hours. It was peaceful, and it's been that way since I returned.
And although there were a few hiccups during my time away, I've never been better.

I was telling Pearl about a friend I made while I was in Cornerstone, when Garnet came out of her room, Amethyst following suit

Garnet had her usual cool expression on, while Amethyst looked kinda serious

"What's goin' on guys?" I spoke up

"I had a vision" Garnet spoke calmly

Amethyst cut her off

"Dude, there's a gem in keystone stealing from people." she crossed her arms "which is like so not cool."

"Wait why would a gem need to steal?" I questioned

"All I know is that we must stop her." Garnet said, adjusting her glasses

"Then it's settled" Pearl spoke up "We go to Keystone, poof  and bubble her, then return the stuff she stole."

Garnet and Amethyst nodded in agreement

but that didn't really sit right with me
poof her? why? everyone deserves a second chance

"Wait hold on now" I raise my hands "We don't need to poof her, we can just talk."

"Steven, not every gem is going to listen" Pearl tried to reason

"That doesn't mean we shouldn't try" I cross my arms "How about this, I'll go alone so you guys can focus on classes."

"What? Steven, no." Pearl said sternly but I wasn't gonna listen

"I'll be fine." I said as I stood from my seat on the couch "I'll head out tomorrow"

"Wha- G-Garnet! Tell Steven it's too dangerous to confront a gem alone!"

It's like this sometimes. them still treating me like I'm just some child

"Pearl, if Steven says he'll be fine then he'll be fine"

Huh, well that's surprising

"What!? Garnet, woah I gotta agree with Perry on this one." Amethyst speaks up

they began to argue but I just ignored them as I made my way upstairs to prepare

"A gem in Keystone, huh?" I spoke to myself

I began packing

I packed a few clothes and some little homeschool pamphlets. Then, I made my way back downstairs to get more information from Garnet

I learned that the gem usually does crime in the southwest parts of Keystone

☁️ Stealing from clothing, jewelry, and electronic stores is kinda her thing☁️ I thought as I listened more to Garnet

"This gem will be trouble, so I advise you to get some rest." Garnet smirked

I was making my way back up the stairs and to my room but stopped when Garnet called out to me

"Oh, and Steven,"  I looked to her "You got this." She gave a thumbs up and I smiled a thank you

I plopped down onto my bed

I pulled out my phone and checked the time 7:17 PM

"Not late enough to sleep." I sighed. It was still so early and I had nothing to do "Then again it might be good to get up early." I contemplated just going to sleep right now.

I eventually decided to stay up another hour
I turned on the tv and began re-watching episodes of Camp Pining Hearts
And before I knew it I had fallen asleep

I woke up to my alarm going off

7:13 AM

I sat up and rubbed the tiredness from my eyes

I got up, stretched, and went to go shower, greeting the gems on the way toward the bathroom

The shower was great, the water was nice and hot.
I got out and did my haircare and skincare routines

I got dressed in my usual getup and made my way to the kitchen

Garnet hands me a cup of coffee as i sit down

it's pretty quiet
the air is still thick from yesterday's arguing

"I'm gonna be fine" I say, breaking the silence

"It's just... we just got you back" Pearl sighs

"It's not like I'm leaving forever" I chuckle "I'll be gone for like a week max."

"A week!?" amethyst yells "That's like 7 whole days" she continues whining

"You did a year, you can go a week without me around" I say, crossing my arms

I finish my coffee and stand up from my seat "Now, come see me off" I say with a smirk

I grabbed the bag I packed and headed outside

I threw it into the back seat of the car and got in the driver's seat

To be honest I felt a little bad about leaving again.
but it's only for a week
and besides its for a good cause

☁️I'm gonna talk to this gem and show her a better way of living☁️

I smiled at the thought

I waved goodbye to the gems as I drove off


Keystone here I come.
