I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing, and with a sigh forced myself to get up. School wasn't my favorite thing in the whole wide world, but it's better than doing nothing all day I suppose..
Hi. I'm Leah Leaf, I'm currently about to start my first day of high school.. in a completely different state! I didn't know any of these kids! Im gonna be the schools next weirdo! No Leah! That is not the way to think of things! Thank positive... you might make some new friends, you never know! Yeah... just think positive.. and stay calm..
"Leah!! If you don't get your butt down here in the next fifteen minutes I'm leaving you!!" That was my older brother, Trent. He's a pain in my butt sometimes.. but I didn't blame him for rushing me. He was finally going into senior year, good for him.
I got dressed rather quickly, an apple green and white striped shirt, a pair of blue jeans, a yellow over-coat, and my pair of sneakers. I tied my hair back after brushing it, grabbed my bag and journal, and headed downstairs.
The first one to greet me was my older cousin, Flora. She's just staying here for a few weeks because her parents were going on a business trip. She looked at my outfit then rolled her eyes.
"Leah.. as your dear cousin I would advise letting me take you shopping. You have such a hideous wardrobe! I feel bad for those poor innocent eyes that have to stare at your clothes.."
I forced a smile.
"Well Flora, I just moved here don't forget. I haven't had any time to get new clothes Flora."
She scoffed.
"Well, just let me know if you ever want to. Goiky fashion is not at all similar to what people in Yoyle land wear!"
"..I noticed."
We both walked towards the kitchen where my younger brother, Grayson met us. He was going to the third grade. And then there was Trent.. getting Grayson and mine's lunchboxes ready.
"Ah there you are! I was worried I was gonna have to get Grayson to go get you.."
"I set my alarm to late.. I forget how early school starts here."
"Right right.. Just remember for tomorrow."
I nodded, and as Trent finished up with the lunchboxes he grabbed himself a quick breakfast, as well as his car keys, and we all left the house. Now I wanted to take the bus to school since it meant meeting some new people, but Trent had to remind me that I wasn't in middle school anymore and that it would be a waste of gas to drop me off at a bus stop. I nodded in understanding and the rest of the car ride was quiet.
Time skip
I was nervous as I stood in front of the new school, Trent had gone to look at the clubs there were, and Flora went to talk to some of her middle school friends. I leaned against the side of the school wall, minding my own business, when I heard two people walking towards me. And they were talking about Flora...
"...I mean. It wasn't really big, it was just a little bug. But Flora went crazy!"
"Really?"
"For sure! Flora thinks she's so beautiful!"
"Yeah! Like the time she asked Isa if she was beautiful, and when she said no, she pushed her over!"
I paid no mind to the rest of the conversation, and took out my schedule from my jean pocket, great. Algebra in first period.. just what I needed. I put it back when I saw a group of four walking over to me. Two guys, and two girls. I figured I would go unnoticed by them until the red haired girl spoke to me.
"Hey, I'm Penny! You're new here right?"
"Uhm.. Yeah.. I'm Leah..!"
"Don't worry Leah! We're all freshmen too!"
The bronze haired boy spoke up.
"I think it would be best if you got introduced to our friend group!"
"What a stupid idea.."
A loud smack echoed through the air.
