As I walked closer to the sounds of torture and screaming my heart began to pound. I can't believe that I was so naive! I failed to see what was in front of my eyes the whole time. The whole town was hunting us down, but instead of being captured I'm forced to watch my friends suffer and die. I creep closer until I'm a few yards away from a wagon filled with vampires that I had only slightly known. I inch closer until I see a man running towards the wagon screaming. "NO! NO! ADALINE PLEASE!" My heart stopped. Stefan Salvatore, the man whom I've been in love with ever since I laid eyes on him was running towards the wagon believing that I was in it. I moved to run towards him but I heard a fatal gunshot. My Stefan had been shot.
I watched the man whom had shot him get on his horse to lead the wagon away. I waited until he was a safe distance from me and then I ran to him. "Stefan no. Please don't be dead" I sobbed. I held Stefans head in my lap and I stroked his hair. His eyes flickered to me, his mouth slightly agape. There was no time to think, no time to figure out how to save him before he whispered "Adaline" and slipped into death.
