It took a few days for Adrien to settle down with this curse. He wasn't sad at all. Rather, he took this as an opportunity to be free.

"Boon or bane? I'll find out soon," Adrien said to himself, as he roamed around his house at midnight. This was high time he could sneak out. Slowly peeking at his father's room and making sure he was sound asleep, he went out of the mansion.

He didn't know where his steps were directing him but in no time, he was in front of the Tom and Sabine boulangerie.

He could see that even though the whole town was deep dark with lights off, one of the rooms had its light on.

And that room belonged to Marinette.

Being a sneaky curious cat, he climbed to her window somehow through the drainage pipe. And when he got down on the balcony, he clumsily broke a pot while falling.

The breaking sound was enough to make Marinette aware that someone was there on her balcony.

So when she peeked out with a broom perched in her hand and saw it was just a cute cat, she immediately melted.

"Aw, what a cutie!" She giggled and started petting the cat. Adrien melted in her touch as if he were in heaven.

Soon, she took him inside her room and settled him on her chaise. Adrien could see her face under the study table's yellow light.

Under so much pressure, she still was beautiful. He didn't even realise he was purring when he was practically ogling at her.

"Hey cat, since you're here and I could use a midnight visit of a stranger, do you want something to eat?"

"Since I'm not in my model diet regime while I'm a cat, I could devour some croissants," He said, but unfortunately it was just a series of meows.

Marinette chuckled lightly and scratched at the back of his ear before going downstairs and bringing—

A plate full of croissants! She was a mind reader!

"My parents had some leftover croissants, I hope you don't mind them!"

Soon, minutes passed into hours, and when it was finally 3 AM, she went to sleep after packing up. Adrien now understood why she was so late every single day.

He gazed at the sleeping girl and said in a hushed voice, "You're too hard on yourself Marinette, I wish I could help more.." He ran his paw through her hair lightly, "Good night, Marinette, I'll see you tomorrow."

With that, he jumped back to the balcony through the window, ready to return to his house.

He reasoned this curse was a boon.

The next day, he had fencing practice. He was mildly happy when he saw his old friend Kagami, back to their academy.

"Nice to see you again, Kagami," He politely greeted her.

Kagami smiled back and said, "Nice to see you again too, Adrien." Kagami took a bold step and kissed him on the cheek.

Somewhere else, Marinette and Alya were out shopping when suddenly, Marinette was hit with a dizzy spell. Alya noticed this.

"Marinette, are you alright?" She asked, panic evident in her eyes.

"Yeah Alya, I think exhaustion took a toll, can we go to a restaurant?"

Days passed, and Kagami made her hi-bye kisses frequent. Which in turn, made Marinette suffer in regular dizzy spells. Marinette sometime felt she was growing weaker internally.
