"WHAT AM I GONNA DO, sam?!" cora hissed, running her hands through her hair, as she sat in the passenger seat of sam's car.

sam had agreed to rush her down to the hospital so she could see ethan, despite the fact she silently hoped cora would've just stayed around that night and forgotten about him.

she knew that wasn't possible at all, because she had proven time and time again how much she cared about him, and missed him more than words could comply.

"—don't worry about it, cor. he'll be happy to see you." sam said, not quite sure of what to say to her to make her calm down.

"no, sam! i was supposed to be there when he woke up, and now he's up there all alone thinking i forgot about him!" she shrieked with anger, slamming her body onto the back of the seat, and letting herself slump down slowly, letting out a few lovesick groans.

"cora, you wouldn't have rushed to the hospital to see him if you forgot about him, and he'll know that as soon as you get in there." sam said, grabbing her hand and giving it a squeeze, before returning it to the gear stick.

"i know sam. but he woke up in a strange room he's never seen before, not knowing where he was, or what happened, or how he got there. that's pretty fucking scary, sam." cora said, shutting her eyes, and clutching her hands onto one another.

"well, you can tell him all about it. we're here." she said, instantly making her jump upward, her eyes laced with deep concern.

"let's go. right now."
cora said, opening her car door and shutting it harshly.

cora walked alongside sam to ethan's hospital room, not being able to resist grabbing onto sam's hand as extra support.

cora's next breath came out shaky, and sam quickly turned to her, stopping her in her tracks.

"cora, please, for the love of god, do not be nervous. you have spent every damn day sitting by that bed, waiting for him, and now your standing here all shaky. why?" she asked, putting her hands on either side of cora's shoulders, and rubbing them gently.

"it's my first time speaking to him since the theatre. im gonna have to tell him about his sentence. i can't do that, sam."
cora whispered, her eyes beginning to water, tears dripping down onto the white floors of the hospital.

"hey-hey...don't cry. it'll be okay. don't tell him unless your ready to. your so strong cora, i hope you know that." sam mumbled, grabbing her shoulders and bringing her into a hug, making her friend stifle a cry.

"thank you. for everything you've done for me." cora said wiping her eyes slowly, just as sam let her go.

cora knew that sam would always stick by her side no matter what, same goes for everyone.
after the previous year in woodsboro, she thought that they'd all go their separate ways so they could heal properly, and eventually forget about each other and the memories they made.

sam made sure that no matter how hard recovering got, she was always there for each of her younger comrades, helping them through the year, making sure they were taking care of themselves, and sticking by one another.
cora couldn't thank her more for the part she played in helping her get through the roughest year of her life.
